Clarification: Sen Sylvia Allen says she did not take over the Navajo County Republican Committee (NCRC) four years ago. “It was taken over by Dara Vansessia, who was chairman. She is the one being investigated by the County Attorney’s office. I had nothing to do with that committee,” Allen said. Allen was referring to NCRC’s Chairman Steve Slaton’s 9-12-17-briefs commentary on a newly formed “Republicans of Navajo County Club” in which Slaton referred to “Allen’s group.” -ft

Sen Sylvia Allen Responds To Navajo County Republican Chairman Steve Slaton: 9-12-17-briefs First, a group of PC in Navajo County wanted to take a different direction from where Steve is taking our party in Navajo County. They never intended to REPLACE the Navajo County Republican Committee they just want to go a different direction. They call themselves Republicans of Navajo County, they are a Club. They do not need to register to be a Club they are not going to raise money or have fundraiser or give money to candidates. They will not interfere with Mr. Slaton and what he is doing. But, they do not want to fight with other Republicans they only want to teach our founding principles, increase Republican registration and help Candidates. They don’t need to be registered to do so, however, they did register their logo. Steve is still the official Committee working with the State committee. If you check with the SOS you will see he has never register either.

I am not an officer of this new Club but I support them because I only want to work with growing our party and teaching correct principles I do not want to fight with other Republicans. You can call Jim Vance who is the President of the Club. Years ago we have three different Republican clubs in Navajo County along with the Committee. The more who are working the better.

Second. NEVER, NEVER, did I promise to switch with anyone. How would Steve know this? He was not even around when Chester, Brenda and I were serving together. The voters are the ones who have asked for term limits and this game we play as Legislators to switch all the time is not in the spirit of the law. I am not termed out and I am not obligated to switch. If the voters do not want me to continue to serve they are the ones to say so.

UPDATE: Yavapai County PC Richard Hennessey to Yavapai County Chairman Mark Sensmeier: It has come to my attention that you allowed Jonathan Lines to ignore the bylaws and place three people as state committee replacements that didn't even run. This is a clear violation of the bylaws! I would highly recommend that you read the bylaws and correct your mistake. Lines is trying to stack the deck to save himself from removal. It's not going to work. If you don't fix this I am prepared, along with others, to go on a press campaign against you and Lines. Editor’s Note: According to a response Sensmeier sent to Hennessey, Sensmeier pointed out that he had sent the top three Yavapai County PCs elected replacements name to Lines. Sensmeier wrote that Lines rejected Sensmeier’s submittal and appointed three people who hadn’t run for Yavapai County Committeemen. At 8:54 pm., Monday, Sept 11, Sensmeier sent Hennessey another message that says Sensmeier is working on a “several-pronged approach” to convince Lines to recall the Lines appointees and to appoint the three approved Yavapai County PCs as Yavapai County State Committeemen as recommended by Sensmeier. Briefs has sent a message to Lines asking for his explanation as to why he rejected Sensmeier’s recommendation and appointed PCs who hadn’t run for state committeemen. Lines has not responded at post time.

Senator John McCain received an MRI at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland Monday. Phoenix Councilman Sal DiCiccio: The Phoenix City Council voted Sept 13 to stop an effort by protestors to persecute the brave men and women of the Phoenix Police Department for their actions surrounding the protests of Aug 22nd. "We already have extensive civilian oversight of our police department," said DiCiccio. "This was a witch hunt, pure and simple. The hunt is over. Our officers performed brilliantly that night under tremendous duress, tonight the Council demonstrated our faith in Chief Williams and our incredible men and women in blue. The choice that night was between chaos and control. Cities that have chosen chaos have paid an enormous price in violence and destruction. Our officers and their response spared us that, and we need to be thanking them, not attacking them. This is a win for law and order." Unfortunately, the Council voted down DiCiccio's alternate motion that would have ended the ongoing effort to target police officers who already work under significant civilian oversight. "The Council made a mistake in turning down my substitute motion, This issue isn't going to go away until the Council stands together behind our police department. The protestors pushing this initiative don't want the police to be able to do their job, we have to stand up and put a stop to this."

Navajo County Republican Chairman Steven Slaton Response To Sen Sylvia Allen About Her “Newly Formed Republicans Of Navajo County” 9-13-17-briefsI find her statement that a group of PCs in Navajo County wanted to take a different direction from where Steve (sic) is taking our party in Navajo County. This is true. We are committed to not comply with RINOs or want RINOs involved with the NCRC! They have been the problem and are led by John McCain, Jeff Flake, Jonathan Lines, and Mathew Kenney, the man who was placed inside the AZGOP to run it instead of Chairman Jonathon Lines. These people are not following State Statues or AZGOP Bylaws, which appears to be ok by Senator Allen. If she supports a group of PCs who do not want to follow the rule of law, then she needs to resign. She took an oath of office to uphold our laws.

Her next statement in regard to “they are just a group,” a two year old can see through this. Please, Senator Allen, you're insulting the people of Navajo County with an obvious group name so close to the authorized Republican Party of the NCRC. You're misleading people with the name!

About Senator Allen’s statement about teaching correct principles! Senator Allen, you called us and our guest speakers from AZRA at our August meeting “Nazi's”. If this is your new group's founding principles, then I suggest you change its name to reflect “the Propaganda Techniques of the Moron Republican Cartel!”

Your statement about not switching is inaccurate. Many, many people will testify to this fact about the “a, b, c’s”, (Allen, Barton, and Crandell). I have been to many of your Shoot-Out fund raisers [an event Allen holds just about every year] where the switching was spoken of openly. As well, I have had many conversations with Brenda Barton, and Chester Crandell, when he was alive, about this strategy of the a,b,c’s. LD 13 PCs Marsha Hill and John Powelson: We were in Washington, DC last week, thanks to the Federation for American Immigration Reform (F.A.I.R.), to lobby Senators from the Democrat and Republican parties to protect American citizens and legal immigrants from criminal aliens by passing "Kate’s Law” (HR3004) and "No Sanctuary for Criminal Aliens Act” (HR3003). The main focus of these laws is to discourage re-entry, to the USA, by aliens who have been convicted of major or violent crimes by adding sentence enhancement for being caught back here after deportation or subsequent arrest for new crimes.We assumed, wrongly, that this would be an easy sell. Why would anyone want to allow our citizens or law abiding immigrants to be victims of crime by going easy on the criminal aliens? But we misjudged these Senators by a bunch! The Arizona Game and Fish Department is inviting recreational shooters to celebrate National Hunting and Fishing Day on Sept. 23 at the Ben Avery Shooting Facility. Arizona hunters and anglers who show their valid hunting or fishing license will receive an $8 discount for unlimited shooting (rifle only) from noon to 5 pm at the benchrest range, where steel targets will be placed at intervals up to 300 yards.
