Wickenburg’s Home-Town Gal Holly Jo Samsill sang theNational Anthemat the Turquoise Circuit (no kneelers in that rodeo crowd!) this weekend. Parents John and Susie Samsill are very proud of her. As a matter of fact, all of the Wickenburg folks who watched Holly Jo grow from a cute toddler into a beautiful young women on the rise in the country western music world are mighty proud of her. When she isn’t on tour, you can usually catch the singer belting out a western song (some of which she wrote ) at one of the local cowboy bars.

AZRA Chairman Jim O’Connor’s overview of accomplishments at the National Federation of Republican Assemblies Convention held in Mesa over the weekend: NFRAs Activist of the Year was awarded to the President of the Georgia Republican Assembly, Alex Johnson for his work in creating new chapters in his home state.

The Convention passed six resolutions in support of furthering President Trumps agenda to clean the swamp. Resolutions cover- Education, Defunding Planned Parenthood, Supporting the Presidents Immigration Policies, Protection of First Amendment Rights & Freedoms, Promoting the Traditional Family, and Support for Ending Government Financed Child Profiteering & Generational Genocide.

The Biennial Convention, officiated by NFRA President Willes Lee of Hawaii, was sponsored by the National Rifle Association, the American Conservative Union Foundation (CPAC), WesternJournalism.com, American Majority, Maricopa County Chamber of Commerce, the Prosperity Initiative, Merwin Capital Management, and Casa Grande Valley Newspapers.

Dick Morris’ luncheon had 180 in attendance and the Corey Lewandowski dinner had 220 participants. Saturday speaker panels included Freedom Caucus Congressmen AndyBiggs, Rent Franks & Paul Gosar; Arizona Border Focus Sheriff Richard Mack, Senate President Russell Pearce, & Former Border Patrol Agents Association Chairman Zack Taylor. The duo of Chris Farrell & Mark Spencer representing Judicial Watch kept the attendees riveted with their presentation. The most emotionally moving presentation was that of Jeanette Finicum, widow of Lavoy Finicum, who was shot and killed by federal agents in January of 2016. She delivered a powerful message for all Americans’ to heed.

Arizona’s Republican National Committeewoman, Lori Klein Corbin delivered a power punch in her remarks on moving President’s Agenda forward in the 2018 election cycle. And Sheriff Joe Arpaio closed the afternoon session with a testimony of appreciation to President Trump for his bold move issuing a pardon to Arpaio.

Appreciate you checking on it though. Our side of things is starting to get as bad as the Left in terms of willingness to lie/smear for the sake of winning an argument/fight. Instead of pursuing the truth, they pursue victory at any and all costs, thinking it’s more important to win than be right. Where is the value of "winning" if the cause isn't just? It is very destructive... All we can do is hang on and keep telling the truth. Eventually some folks can figure out who was being honest and who was lying, but the sad truth is that a lot of otherwise well-intentioned folks are going to be misled and will never know it... Yesterday CQ sent Briefs a copy of a message he sent to AFA addressing speculation that has circulated in Republican circles for some time. – ft CQ to AFA: Always happy to debate issues and policies, even with mostly anonymous folks... But I was sent a shot of a column that I'm guessing is recent, claiming I'm being paid by George Soros for work related to National Popular Vote? AZGOP: It’s About The Rule Of Law!!! And Conservative, Values!! That's a really dumb lie, concocted by someone who might be careless or might be malicious. I'll assume the former for now, although it’s been corrected enough times that when it does rear its head it’s usually someone who is lying on purpose. I'm paid by National Popular Vote, Inc which has never taken a dime from Soros or anyone related to him. If it’s a question of who likes the idea, I think one of his sons or nephews once wrote a column supporting the concept, but it is also supported by Tom Tancredo, Newt Gingrich and others. Tom Morrissey, Past Chairman AZ GOP: It was a pleasure to speak before the Sun City West Republican Club this past Saturday, and to see so many wonderful folks whom I had met when I was State Chairman. What was apparent to me during this visit was the sense of unhappiness with our voting process for our Party and for our state offices. I reminded the audience that "those we put in office, work for us, we do not work for them." This prompted a discussion regarding our Party elections and the "abuse" of allowing excessive proxy votes. In addition, even though we have term limits at the state level, a system of "ping pong" has allowed the same elected officials to move from the Senate to House and back. It lets a chosen few control our entire system circumventing the Founding Fathers' intention to govern ourselves with citizen legislators.

What seemed to ring true with that group was when I mentioned that the election of Donald J Trump has caused a revolt in the ranks of the "ruling class" against "we the people" by trying to remove him from office. (I know that feeling well.)

President Trump was our choice last November and in my opinion, our last hope to save this great nation. So if our elected officials do not support him, we should not support them.

I also had the opportunity to announce my newly published book "The Way of the Shadow Wolves". Steven Seagal and I tell the fictional story of law enforcement officers who are under attack by the Deep State operators in government (elected and unelected) who try to prevent them from saving the country from terrorists and the cartels. I have been invited to speak to other clubs around the state and am happy to do so in the upcoming months. The better informed our Party membership, the better we will be served by our elected officials. Let's keep this movement going folks!

He's picked up a few Trumpian notions along the way (you'll see those in a moment), although his "legalize marijuana everywhere" platform really isn't what's expected from someone hitching a ride on the Trump Train. This is going to clash with Arizona voters who like to hear everyone in the media being called "fake news" but also want More Cops But ... and Joe Arpaio Did Nothing Wrong. No one running for public office likes closet skeletons popping out at inappropriate times. The problem with Brittain is his skeletons are parading around the entryway, when not leaving the house completely to cruise the main drag.
