Will US Rep Paul Gosar jump into the race? Haven’t gotten an answer on that one yet. His supports think his reputation as a hardworker will carry him into the winners circle.

The FBI Will Turn Over Documents related to the dossier assembled on President Trump to congressional investigators by next week, according to House Speaker Paul Ryan. This comes in the wake of Ryan’s accusation Wednesday that the agency was stonewalling on House requests for information about the origins and use of the dossier during the presidential campaign. CD9 candidate Steve Ferrara named a ‘Young Gun’ - Joins Elite List of NRCC Candidates to Watch. Ferrara’s campaign and fundraising prowess won the former US Navy Chief Medical Officer a “Young Gun” designation from the National Republican Congressional Committee NRCC. Ferrara is running for the open seat in the Scottsdale, Phoenix, Tempe and Chandler area district. Ferrar filed to run for congress in May 2017 and has brought in more than $422,000. “Thank you to the NRCC for including me in its prestigious Young Guns program,” Ferrara said. “It’s recognition that we are leading the way in CD9 as the candidate who can bring real change to Washington, D.C.” The NRCC named 31 candidates across the country as Young Guns. The program puts newer candidates on the national radar as they raise money to flip a Democratic seat into a Republican victory. Ferrara, a native Arizonan from Phoenix, is a 25-year military veteran who served as a combat surgeon in Afghanistan. As a National Academy of Sciences Fellow, Ferrara was instrumental in drafting major bipartisan legislation that transformed Medicare Part B, securing access to higher quality, more affordable care for seniors. With bipartisan support, the legislation was signed by the President in April 2015. Following his tenure on Capitol Hill, Steve was tapped to be the Navy’s Chief Medical Officer. There he helped lead 63,000 medical professionals caring for over 9 million active duty, dependent, and retirees. Ferrara holds numerous awards and recognitions including the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, and the Humanitarian Service Medal. Arizona Town Crier Jim Ehl: I received a number of replies to the Town Crier email concerning Senator Flake. This one caught attention: “Good story, but I think it's less sophisticated. His fundraising wasn't going well, and his public pronouncements against the wall and other Trump initiatives was losing. I think he would have defeated Kelli Ward in a primary fight, but would have lost to Sinema. Ward doesn't seem to have a clue as to how to run a political campaign, and Sinema will have all the money she wants in her campaign. Flake will have served long enough to guarantee himself the $175,000/year pension when he turns 55, so he'll be fine. Flake has never been a fighter; I liken him to a pansy.” Suppose that to be the case, what does anyone expect the AZ GOP to do in finding a suitable replacement for Senator Flake, or just leaving it all to chance by just leaving it up to the uninformed voters to decide? Does anyone have a handle on the voting record of Kelli and Sinema and the state’s party reaction to each??

LD29 PC Michael Meacham: I just received a phone survey, with no source listed, where one of the first questions was: "What is your opinion of President Trump?" the answer choices were: 1. Very unfavorable, 2. Unfavorable, 3.Somewhat unfavorable, 4. Very unfavorable, or 5. No opinion. The rest of the survey consisted of questions about the 2018 Az. Senate race, comparing various candidate against each other and against Kirstin Sinema. Other than the Trump question, they seemed straight forward. The Trump question may be an error, but it would be a good way to create a poll making Trump look like everyone thinks he is "unfavorable". I said "no opinion" so I could hear the rest of the survey. I wish I knew where it came from.

Former LD22 PC Brian Reilly: With the recent election of Sheriff Penzone, one would expect changes from the new regime. But, nothing has changed when it comes to traffic enforcement in Sun City West. I’ve expressed my concerns to the MCSO about the lack of traffic enforcement in SCW and there has been no perceivable change in enforcement, since Arpaio left office. An interesting fact, under Arpaio, SCW, with about 24,535 inhabitants, was patrolled by only one deputy sheriff per shift. Nothing has changed under Sheriff Penzone. Penzone still has only one deputy sheriff patrolling our area, resulting in virtually no traffic enforcement. Residents have noticed many traffic violations go unpunished on a daily basis. During a one hour period of time, at a given intersection in SCW, I counted the cars running a stop sign, a $242 fine. The first day, 80% of the vehicles ran the stop sign. On the second day, 86% of the vehicles ran the stop sign. And finally, on the third day, 100% of the vehicles ran the stop sign. It would seem that former Sheriff Arpaio has created a plethora of traffic scofflaws through his lack of traffic enforcement in SCW. Currently, Sheriff Penzone has done nothing to increase the number of Sheriff’s Deputies in our neighborhood. It’s time for Sheriff Penzone to break the Arpaio mold and become more creative with the limited personnel that he has at the MCSO. On a given day, Sheriff Penzone should temporarily pull deputies from other areas to try to overcome the traffic hazard that continues to exist here in SCW. The current one deputy per 8 hour shift will never be a deterrent to traffic scofflaws here in Sun City West. Sheriff, do your job!

Arizona Town Crier Jim Ehl: Now that Senator Flake will no longer be running for office there will probably be a number of candidates for that office crawling out of the woodwork. It’s not a foregone conclusion that the race will be between Kelli and Sinema in the general. (I think that I’ll vote for the best looking or whoever has the easiest name to spell. Maybe age or color of hair may be influential in my vote.) Since the AZ GOP probably will not do it, if there is a good leader among the 15 County Chairs, perhaps, he could get them together and research the qualifications and background of all the Republican candidates for the senator's office and make that information known to the voters through the PCs prior to the primary election. Then the voters will have some pertinent information on which to make a decision! What candidate would admit to committing a felony or other derogatory information? Then with good information voters will have something to use.

Congressman Trent Franks in reaction to reports that ‘Jane Doe’s’ child has died. “The way this episode has been discussed in the media – one would think ‘Jane Doe’ received a diagnosis of cancer or some other terminal disease and the Trump administration was blocking her from being cured. This was an innocent human being that arrived in the United States through no fault of his or her own (the ultimate dreamer) that the Trump administration was attempting to protect, while still respecting the rights of the baby’s mother.”

This giant sized BQ smoker will be used to prepare for the annual Veteran’s Day fundraiser for those serving at Luke AFB. The annual event is hosted by Dr. Robert Branch and his wife Adele. Branch went to Texas several years ago to obtain the special made smoker for his BBQ fundraiser in conjunction with the Fighter Country Foundation.

Former LD13 Chairman Dr Robert Branch and his wife Adele are hosting their annual 1-5 pm., Sat., Nov 11Veteran’s Day BBQ fundraiser to benefit local Veterans in conjunction with Fighter Country Partnership and Fighter Country Foundation (Luke AFB). This event will also honor the Families of Luke AFB. They are counting on 300 -500 people to attend. No admission fee, nor food charge; however, a donation to the Fighter Country Foundation is encouraged. They have a BBQ smoker that can easily feed over 1000 people, and their home is next to a seven-acre park. This is a Veteran’s Day – no campaigning although elected officials are welcome to join in the honoring of veterans. However, participants are asked to bring their own lawn chairs.

Secretary of State Michele Reagan has announced the number of registered voters in Arizona has increased 14,643 to more than 3.6 million active voters. Of the state's 3,665,316 voters, 1,268,748 are Republicans, 1,106,675 are Democrats and 1,250,879 have not designated an officially recognized party preference. Libertarians and members of the Green party make up a little less than one percent of the state’s total registration. “It’s great to see enrollment continue to rise,” said Reagan. “I’m hopeful that participation in this November’s elections increases as well. Local elections have a tremendous impact on the quality of life in our communities. The petition requests legislators to amend ARs16—828 to prohibit political party members from carrying unlimited proxies for business meeting.
