It’s Been Pointed Out By Several Readers that while demanding the swamp in DC be cleaned out … perhaps we need to cleanse the hallowed halls of the Arizona State legislature as well. Stories have circulated for several years about the misbehavior of some esteemed lawmakers during drunken escapades. It’s no secret one drunks so much during working hours that he can’t make it to committee meetings. He was reportedly falling down drunk in the parking lot and had to be taken home a year or so ago. Another story circulates that he made such a mess of himself one evening that his compadres had to take him outside and hose him off before wrapping him in a sheet and to take him home. We’ve read stories about Hollywood’s famed “casting couch” and the “rushin ‘ hands and roman fingers’ of perverted lawmakers and pedophiles in DC but little has been publicized about the escapades of our own state lawmakers. Recently Arizona State Rep Michelle Ugenti-Rita says she was sexually harassed by male colleagues and has faced retaliation for reporting her experience. In reality, it’s nothing new. Over 30 years ago, I remember the anguish of one woman as she told me of a teenage daughter coerced into an affair with one of our lecherous state lawmakers. Women aren’t the only victims. “Boy toys” seem to be the preference of some of our religious and political elite. The stories go on and on and on. It’s time to clean up the home front of its grab-ass power brokers, who prey on innocent victims. – ft
LD13 Chairman Ben Boon told Briefs this morning, “There will be a letter going out. Matt King will be acting chairman until the election which should be happening soon. The county chairman will be helping the current board organize the election along with Kim Owens. Which I expect to happen soon. I was offered a job with CLAAS North America which required an immediate relocation to Omaha, NE. I had little time to be able to wrap things up in Arizona. I will be in and out frequently over next seven months. It was a pleasure getting to know everyone and I wish everyone the best moving forward.”
Author Tom Morrissey reports that Amazon has fixed the distribution glitch with “Way of the Shadow Wolves.” It’s available in e-book and print formats.
AzRA Chairman Jim O’Connor filed for a position on the Arizona Corporation Commission last Friday. O’Connor is the past LD23 chairman.

AG Mark Brnovich will address the Center for Arizona Policy’s Fall Breakfast at 7:30 am., Thurs., Nov 9 at the Embassy Suites Scottsdale, 5001 N. Scottsdale Road.
With CongresswomanMartha McSally (R) running neck to neck with wanna be congresswoman again Ann Kirkpatrick (D) both are trying their darnest to raise funding to fight their way into Sen Jeff Flake’s seat.
Martha-Mcsally-Looks-In-Line-To-Battle-Kelli-Ward-In-Arizona-Senate-RaceRep. Martha McSally is taking steps toward launching a challenge to Kelli Ward for Sen. Jeff Flake's seat next year, a move that would set up another scorched-earth primary battle between establishment Republicans and former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon.
Former AZGOP Chairman And US Lawmaker Matt Salmon is said to be to be among those the Establishment may be considering backing for the senate seat.
AZGOP Chairman Jonathan Lines starts a Victory Tour of the state tomorrow ending up with a rally on Nov 6 in Phoenix.
Editor’s Note: Please keep opinion pieces to 400 words.
Long-time activist Jane Schutte: Here the Arizona Republicans go again trying to find someone to run against Kelli Ward. FOR ONCE get behind ONE candidate which is Kelli Ward. If all Republicans voted for her I feel she could win over Kyrsten Sinema. Kelli Ward on her part needs to make sure she stands up for the people and this great Country. She needs to make Laura Ingraham and President Trump proud by supporting President Trump’s agenda which is to make America Great. All these other possible candidates appear to be establishment candidates.
Arizona Town Crier Jim Ehl: Taken from the 10-29-17 Briefs : “Activist Michael P Ward : "Martha McSally, Jeff DeWitt, Dave Schweikert, Paul Gosar, Matt Salmon, Doug Ducey, Joe Arpaio, Trent Franks, Robert Graham– all these Arizona politicos have in common is that they are a sampling of the names being thrown around to run for Senator Jeff Flake’s seat in 2018, now that Senator Flake has decided he won’t seek re-election, preferring not to get his hide tanned by Kelli Ward. But what do all of these politicos also have in common besides being tapped by insider Establishment Republicans? They all, despite how much some of them profess their love and devotion to President Trump, didn’t have the stones to run against Jeff Flake and will have made the “brave” decision to run for Senate only after Flake decided he wasn’t going to run." Editor’s Note: Michael is Kelli’s husband.”
And there will probably be more “wannabees” crawling out of the woodwork before next primary. Be it known that every known candidate is known personally, their record of voting has been thoroughly researched, their honesty is beyond question, all are great conservatives, all are devout Republicans, every campaign speech by all has been checked for facts, and now the name of the next Republican primary winner, JOE SNOZ!!!
The point being, how many of the average voters in the primary know how much about the candidates?? Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: “A political party (from Latin: pars, Genitive partis, "part", "portion") is a political organization that typically seeks to influence, or entirely control, government policy, usually by nominating candidates with aligned political views and trying to seat them in political office.[1]Parties participate inelectoral campaignsand educational outreach or protest actions. Parties often espouse an ideology or vision, expressed in a party program, bolstered by a written platform with specific goals, forming a coalition among disparate interests”
We know that the AZ GOP is derelict in providing background information relative to aligned political views for all Republican candidates for the edification of Republican voters before they go to the polls. Yes, the secretary of state normally publishes and mails a bio of each candidate to the voters. But, that’s a neutral publication. Since the AZ GOP will not effectively assist the party with information on every candidate, it seems that the County Chairs would get together and using information about the candidates and inputs from the Precinct Committeemen, give the voters a rundown on all candidates, including voting record, just prior to the primary. Is there a leader that will initiate this???
Former LD13 Chairman Dr Robert Branch and his wife Adele are hosting their annual 1-5 pm., Sat., Nov 11 Veteran’s Day BBQ fundraiser to benefit local Veterans in conjunction with Fighter Country Partnership and Fighter Country Foundation (Luke AFB). No admission fee, nor food charge; however, a donation to the Fighter Country Foundation is encouraged. They have a BBQ smoker that can easily feed over 1000 people, and their home is next to a seven-acre park. This is a Veteran’s Day – no campaigning although elected officials are welcome to join in the honoring of veterans. However, participants are asked to bring their own lawn chairs.
