Elections Seem To Bring Out The Worst In Some People. Hillary Clinton continues to throw mud at US Presidency to Donald Trump because she can’t accept that she lost to him in 2016.Never mind that ugly new allegations keep surfacing regarding Clinton shenanigans that have been kept under wraps for years.
Officials are being exposed for their alleged drunkenness and “pinch and pat” games. The hushed up slush fund that covered congressional misbehavior (at taxpayer’s expense) is revealing more by the day. It appears many of the charges could be true; on the other hand it also appears that some allegations are intended to ruin the careers of politicians, newscasters and other high profile individual.
And here in Arizona, several state legislators are under investigation for various allegations of misconduct that could cost them their legislative seats – if allegations are proven to be true.
In the meantime, Briefs is receiving notes/calls regarding the backgrounds/ records of candidates who opt to run in the 2018 elections. Voters seem to be paying more attention to candidates. Most people are fed up with the crap that has been going on for some time. They want the swamp cleansed on the home front as well as in Washington, DC.; and they don’t want carbon copy replacements. Background checks are underway on many as evidenced by the increase in concerned PC/State Committeemen calls over the past 10 days, reminding Briefs that:
· LD6 Senator Sylvia Allen is the alleged driving force behind the upheaval and attempted removal of the Navajo County Republican officers.
· LD13 Senator Don Shooter, Appropriation Chairman, is under investigation for alleged sexual harassment.
· Several Fellow legislators have written to the House urging the removal of Rep Michelle Ugenti-Rita (R), House Ways and Means Committee Chairman, and Rep Rebecca Rios (D), the House Democratic Caucus while under investigation for questionable misbehavior.
· LD18candidate Farhana Shifa Ahmed’s husband’s made anti-Trump comments in the 3-23-16 phoenixnewtimes.com It was pointed out that former AZGOP Chairman Robert Graham (alleged McCain puppet) is her campaign manager and current AZGOP Chairman Jonathan Lines (another alleged McCain puppet) appointed her chairman of the AZGOP Community Affairs Committee. Editor’s Note: Before Thanksgiving Briefs sent an e-mail to Graham/Farhana inquiring about whether she is in agreement with her husband’s New Times quotes. · Word Has Circulated for months that a couple of female legislators hold one leader’s alleged cozy relationship with a staff member (which he denies) over his head to get their bills moved through the legislature.
· Speaker of the House JD Mesnard decided that taxpayers would foot the bill for attorneys for legislator involved in the sexual harassment investigation.
· Some candidates are reportedly crossing district boundaries to run for office.
· LD20 Senate candidate Shawna Bolick was beaten both times she ran for office in LD28.
· Supt of Public Education candidate Frank Riggs congressional votes on forestry and charter schools are questioned as to whether they helped or hindered.
· LD18 House Jeff Dial, a former legislator, is under scrutiny again regarding his questionable military record.
· Grassroots State Committeemen still want Jonathan Lines AZGOP chairman removed from office at the Jan 27 Mandatory meeting?
· Sen John McCain’s switcheroo on wearinghis medical boot on left or right foot is puzzling …or laughable.
· The movement To Rid Arizona of ‘Dark money’ is underway, which tends to give the GOP Establishment heart burn.

Congrats to State Treasurer Jeff DeWit on his recent nomination as the NASA Finance Director by President Trump. It was no secret that DeWit coveted the NASA position while grassroots was trying to get him to run for the US Senate as retiring Jeff Flake’s replacement. Now the big question is, “Who will be Gov Doug Ducey’s replacement appointee for DeWit’s Treasury chair?”

LD19 PC Joe Hobbs: A vote on Dec 14 by the Republican controlled Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is expected to fully Restore Our Internet. FCC chairman Ajit Pai has distributed a draft to commissioners of his suggested rule changes “Restoring Internet Freedom Order” that could have broad ramifications for the entire internet. Pai has argued that the regulations imposed by the Obama administration “depressed investment in building and expanding broadband networks and deterred innovation. For almost 20 years, the Internet thrived under the light-touch regulatory approach established by President Clinton and a Republican Congress. This bipartisan framework led the private sector to invest $1.5 trillion building communications networks throughout the United States. And it gave us an Internet economy that became the envy of the world. But in 2015, the prior FCC bowed to pressure from President Obama. On a party-line vote, it imposed heavy-handed, utility-style regulations upon the Internet. That decision was a mistake. It’s depressed investment in building and expanding broadband networks and deterred innovation.”
Pai’s draft order that would abandon this failed approach and return to the longstanding consensus that served consumers well for decades. Under his proposal, the federal government will stop micromanaging the Internet. Instead, the FCC would simply require Internet service providers to be transparent about their practices so that consumers can buy the service plan that’s best for them and entrepreneurs and other small businesses can have the technical information they need to innovate. Additionally, Pai’s proposal, the Federal Trade Commission will once again be able to police ISPs, protect consumers, and promote competition, just as it did before 2015. Pai’s proposal will put the federal government’s most experienced privacy cop, the FTC, back on the beat to protect consumers’ online privacy.

Former Maricopa County Republican Chairman Rob Haney: In a March 6, 2008, Wanderer article, Arizona GOP activist Rob Haney, a longtime foe of Sen John McCain, was quoted that when “nine of McCain’s staff of consultants and operatives were running for elected Republican precinct committeemen positions” in 2006, their names also appeared as “Republicans for Janet” on Napolitano’s campaign website. That Wanderer story continued: “ ‘McCain later rewarded one of these staffers, Wes Gullett, by making him campaign chairman for his Arizona presidential effort,’ Haney said, adding that ‘a great number of McCain’s closest and most ambitious friends are pro-abortion and homosexual-agenda advocates who feel more at ease working for Democrats than Republicans’. In other words, cut from the same cloth as Democrat Napolitano. These GOP operatives’ names appearing as Napolitano’s campaign supporters seemed shocking enough that their names were discreetly removed.
On Nov 29, Haney, the Phoenix conservative GOP Catholic activist, told The Wanderer: Napolitano is a political-science graduate of Santa Clara University, a Jesuit institution. Jesuit-taught religious are recognized as the leaders in the schism now affecting the Catholic Church. Pope Francis is a Jesuit. I suspect that Napolitano’s arrogant persona, far-left political bent, subterfuge, dishonesty, and lack of ethics were inculcated in her as an underclassman in the Jesuit university. “Recall, Napolitano played a large role in the political lynching (Supreme Court Justice) Clarence Thomas endured in his U.S. Senate confirmation hearings. Napolitano was accuser Anita Hill’s attorney,” Haney continued. “Pro-abortion Republicans helped elect Napolitano governor of Arizona with the slogan, ‘Republicans for Janet.’ And with the support of Republican Senators McCain and (Jon) Kyl as well as Republican Representatives (Jeff) Flake and (John) Shadegg, Napolitano kept Arizona an open-borders state for the illegal-alien invasion. Congressman Trent Franks on the House passage of the Republican Tax Reform plan: “This is a historic and landmark tax overhaul. It is not embellishment to say this tax bill will benefit Americans of all ages and income levels. More Americans keeping more of their hard-earned money is good for everyone. Beyond that, this bill creates new rules that make American businesses more competitive worldwide – expect to see more ‘Made in America’ stickers on consumer goods. I believe the economic growth spurred by this tax reform bill will begin to close the deficit and provide healing to our hurting economy. As of now, combined with local and state taxes, the tax rate is currently 39.1% -- the highest statutory rate among developed nations in the world! This bill reduces the corporate tax rate to 20%. A lower tax rate will make the United States more competitive on the global market.
“This bill will also take a significant step towards fixing the complicated, burdensome and inefficient tax code. The bill provides lower individual tax rates and simplifies the tax code by reducing the number of brackets from seven to four, and doubles the standard deduction, to provide a more even tax code that also expands the “zero tax bracket. There are many other things I am specifically excited about. This bill modifies the onerous Johnson amendment, restoring freedom of speech to religious communities across America. The GOP tax bill also significantly rolls back state and local tax deductions (SALT). SALT subsidizes high-taxed cities and states on the coasts. Arizona practices fiscal responsibility – there is no reason Arizonans need to subsidize high taxes for residents of Los Angeles, San Francisco or New York. The bill also repeals the estate tax, a tax on Americans after they have died– which adds crushing burden to the bereaved’s family. Finally, I am glad to see that unborn children are included in the revamped child tax credit. Last, I was pleased to see Chairman Brady make sure we keep the Adoption Tax Credit, a fiscally responsible and morally beneficial tax break for families that choose to provide a permanent and loving home to children desperately needing one.”
