REPUBLICAN BRIEFS

Joe Neglia 2LD26 PC Joe Neglia submitted an article to Briefs last night on how the AZGOP is reportedly planning to “dump Roberts Rules of Order” at the upcoming Jan 27 mandatory State Republican party via proposed bylaws changes. Grassroots precinct committeemen (PCs) and state committeemen (SCs) have been complaining about the way their proposals have been swept under the table and their opinions disregarded at district, county and state meetings - by a controlling close knit Establishment click - for the past five years. Neglia explains how the Establishment has been putting the screws to the grassroots PCs and SCs due to their lack of knowledge. Neglia explains how the Establishment leaders have been getting by with their shenanigans and points out the Establishment bylaws changes proposals will give them even more power. Neglia’s commentary is too long for Briefs to post in its entirety. However, you can read the complete article at AZGOP-Trying-To-Dump-Robert’s-Rules-Of-Order This is a must read! He pulls no punchs in pointing out  which proposals must be voted down by the grassroots SCs at the Jan 27 AZGOP mandatory meeting - to put a stop to the crap that has been going on for far too long. Every precinct committeeman in the state should read his article and become well acquainted with the current Roberts Rules of Order so you can stand up and stop some of the shenanigans that are reportedly occurring at the local legislative district meetings, as well. Neglia should be commended for his efforts to start cleaning up the AZGOP swamp!- ft

Who is Joe Neglia? He is an LD26 precinct committeeman captain and state committeeman since 2012, and the newly elected Maricopa County Republican Committee (MCRC) Member-at-Large. He served as the LD26 Treasurer from 2012-2016 and ran their annual AR-15 rifle raffles. He received the “Most Dedicated Outstanding PC Award in 2013 and the “Outstanding PC Award” in 2014. He is a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, GOA and is an AZ Citizens Defense League (AzCDL) member, who happens to be a professor of engineering technology at Mesa Community College. He is a Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.), ASU MBA (1994), Sperry Space Systems/Honeywell Satellite Systems Engineer 1986-1991. If that isn’t impressive enough, he has also been awarded two US Patents and is a ham radio operator.

The Maricopa County Board of Health will conduct a public meeting at 1:30 pm, Fri., Feb 2 in the Board of Supervisors’ conference room, 10th floor, 301 W Jefferson St in Phoenix, to approve initiation of regulatory change to Maricopa County Air Pollution Control Regulation III - AQ-2016-004-Rule 320 (Odors and Gaseous Air Contaminants). The Maricopa County Air Quality Department (department) is proposing to revise Rule 320 regarding manure removal/handling and transportation regulations. Save Tonopah Oppose Poultry Plant (STOPP), will be in attendance to present their case against the rule changes, according to spokesman Dan Mack. Sign Candidate Petitions HereThis link leads you to the Secretary of State office form.

NOTES FROM READERS

Michele Reagan 2017 SOSSecretary of State Michele Reagan responds: The Secretary of State does not, and will not, fill out the petitions for a candidate.  We provide a sample form on our website and it is up to the candidate to “fill in the blanks” with their relevant information.  Unfortunately, campaign consultants like Constantin Querard like to blame the Sec of State when he advises his candidate poorly. Bad advice is something many of us have come to expect from CQ as he is the same consultant who “advised” his candidates to support the unconstitutional bill National Popular Vote. Kudos to Debbie Lesko and Phil Lovas who know how to follow the law and filled out their petitions properly.

PC, SC and LD16 Chairman Jerry Clingman: We Are In The Midst Of Another Gov Shutdown. The Last Occupant Of The White House devised a plan to weaponize the shut down against the American people. President Trump will not allow the closing of our parks. US parks and other facilities should remain open but they need to be identified. I am asking all good Americans and Arizonans to join together identify the parks and places. We can then find volunteers to insure that they are open, clean and safe. I am open to help coordinate some of the efforts as I know good people from all over the state. Things that need need to be done:

1.    Identify the places that remain open

2.    Identify the needs of the place or park.

3.    Find a coordinator in the area.

4.    Find volunteers; facebook, email, etc. Keep me in mind as I can get State and County help to assist in your efforts.

Status of Saguaro lake area. Bathrooms closed. Coons  Bluff open. Butcher Jones closed but accessible, Phon D Sutton closed, Granite Reef closed but accessible, Saguaro Lake open. I need help to get to our US rep. to get those parks and recreation areas open. The Park service rep for this areas is Gary Hanna  Ph. 602-501-8786 . President Trump stated the parks stay open.  Jerry Clingman  Ph.480-861-4958, Email: az4hdgov@gmail.com

archie dicksionActivist Archie Dicksion: I am not sure how many times over the past several years I have attended a meeting to hear someone tell us that the most powerful office in the Republican Party is that of the Precinct Committeeman. If you believe that, please try going to the Republican Party headquarters and request that they do some specific act that would be beneficial to you or the party as a whole. From the intern to the executive director to the chairman of the party, they will simply ignore you and your request if it is of an inconvenience to them. One of the basic planks of the Party Platform is the sanctity of the vote. Even now, that rule is being ignored by the state Republican Party.  Of the Republican parties of the eleven (11) western states, only the Arizona party allows the unfettered use of proxies to vote at LD, County and State meetings. They place no limitation on the number of proxies that can be carried by any individual. Further they do not even recognize the sanctity of the proxy. If I give you my proxy, only you can exercise the proxy unless I authorize you to pass it on to someone else. Yet we see at meeting after meeting where someone carrying a proxy passes it on to another person to vote. Our credentials committed running the elections makes no effort to verify who voted the proxy and therefore may have voted illegally.

We are only a few days away from the Mandatory Meeting on January 27, 2018 when we, you and I, can start a fundamental change in the operation of the Republican Party of the State of Arizona. If you are a State Committeeman, you can appear early to the meeting and sign the petition to allow my RESOLUTION to be considered before the committee as a whole. My Resolution limits the use of proxies at legislative district, county and state meetings. There will also be other proposed resolutions for which signatures are being gathered. One of which will require the use of paper ballots for voting purposes at all meetings. If you are a precinct committeeman, you cannot sign the petition (rules you know) but you can attend and assist in getting signatures. LET’S START THE PROCESS OF REFORMING THE ARIZONA REPUBLICAN PARTY. WITH YOUR HELP IT CAN BE DONE.

Steve Montenegro LD13LD21 PC Randy Miller – Series #4: In Saturday’s CD8 Chamber debate, candidate Steve Montenegro left several of us scratching our heads about the National Popular Vote, or HB2456. First, he said “I never voted for this” even though if you look at house vote record there is a “Y” vote next to his name in the third reading. Then he says “It is constitutional under Article 2 section 2 of the Constitution”. Now, he was getting cut off by the moderator so I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt on referencing section 2. This grants power to the president to be “Commander in Chief to the Army, Navy of the United States and Militia of the several states when called into action” …. (Nothing near how to elect the president)

Article 2 section 1 sets out how the president is elected, (Electoral College), length of term etc., and then sets out how it will be done and who can be on the electoral college. Why Steve references this with his statement, that his support for the National Popular Vote simply by enacting legislation is Constitutional is insane. And furthermore, proves his lack of understanding for the constitution. Our constitution is Our Supreme Law of The Land according to Article 6. I haven’t heard any understanding of this by Steve Montenegro and the more he talks the more uninformed he sounds to me.

We must pay attention to these constant errors in constitutional references, especially when our freedoms and liberties are at stake with those we elect to represent us in Washington. Washington constantly oversteps granted powers and authorities. We must elect people who know what the delegated powers under the constitution are and stay within them. We must elect those that will stand up to others who want to strip us of our freedoms and liberties no matter where they come. If they don’t, we have no choice and we must.

Again, Steve is a nice man, presentable and likeable. I like Steve! But I want strength, determination, tenacity and someone I can trust to represent me as I would represent me. I don’t want nice, I want someone who has my back. I want someone who wants to really know what he/she is doing. That is trust. I don’t trust Steve to have my back. The swamp is crowded, don’t add more.

sheriff-richard-mack_thumb2Denise Reilly, former LD22 PC regarding Marianne Ferrari, LD PC and State Committeeman, commented on the 1-21-18-MCRC Briefs regarding her support for Richard Mack. Marianne said, Richard Mack “will stand firm for us.” It’s my opinion that in this day and age character is everything especially when seeking political office. Richard Mack’s defining moment of his life, in my opinion, happened during the Bundy Ranch Standoff and it spoke volumes to me. Mack was clearly aware of the federal government’s prior engagements at Ruby Ridge and Waco. However, Mack made the following comments at the Bundy Ranch Standoff: “We were actually strategizing to put all the women up at the front. If they’re going to start shooting, it’s going to be women that are going to be televised all across the world getting shot by these rogue federal officers.” Do we want a man that would sacrifice women while planning to hide behind their skirts? That’s not leadership, courage or being a protector. If he is not willing to “stand firm" for women, why would anyone trust him to “stand firm” for all of us? Certainly, there must be a better choice. Richard Mack On Standoff Strategy: 'Put All The Women Up At The Front'

Frank Riggs 4Supt of Public Instruction candidate Frank Riggs: Annual National School Choice Week from Jan. 21-27 is a week of events and activities to help recognize and support all K-12 educational options and models, including traditional public schools, public charter schools, public magnet schools, private schools, online academies, and homeschooling.  It's the largest national celebration of opportunities in education. As a U.S. Congressman and Chairman of the House Education Subcommittee, I authored the Charter School Expansion Act which passed the House with 367 votes and the Senate unanimously.  I also authored legislation to give low-income parents "HELP Scholarships" (Helping Empower Low-income Parents) in communities where traditional schools had failed generations of schoolchildren.  The Heritage Foundation said, "Representative Riggs spearheaded many cutting-edge initiatives like school choice and charter schools." I believe that parents have the absolute right (and responsibility) to choose and direct their child's education, and that no one group or individual has the right to declare itself the education decider or gatekeeper for parents. I hope you'll join me in celebrating National School Choice Week if you believe in empowering parents to select the best possible educational experience and learning environment for their child's unique needs—helping them thrive and succeed! I have the proven executive, legislative and political experience, knowledge and ability to meet the challenges facing our K-12 education system and fix our schools.  For more information, please see www.riggsforaz.com
