Martha McSally 3GOP-Senate-Candidate-Martha-McSally-Posts Fake-Comments-On Facebook has drawn comment since she or someone on her staff)  forgot to sign out before posting the first compliment on her new video ad. (Kinda of like embarrassing yourself with a live mike you thought was turned off.) Briefs contacted McSally’s office for comment, but the only response we got was a request for Briefs phone number. However, Rep-Martha-Mcsally’s-Campaign-Blames-Staffer-For-Video-Flub is floating around. Briefs did notice her flack Kelly Schibi is working her back-side off doing damage control with press releases emphasizing all the things McSally is doing. The Dems want that senate seat so badly that they aren’t about to let her forget this. – ft

BarbaraAs The Limited Proxy Use Battle Continues between the Establishment and the Grassroots PCs, readers are probably unaware that Barbara Espinosa of American Freedom by Barbara offered a solution to the proxy abuse problem to former AZGOP Chairman Robert Grahamrobert grahamfour years ago. If he taken her advice, the proxy abuse problem could have been settled in-house at that time. “The solution would be done by the AZGOP; there would not be any need for state legislation. It’s been 4 years since I made this suggestion; today there may be other avenues to consider,” she said this week. Espinosa’s “Solution to Proxy Voting” e-mail sent to Graham on April, 10, 2014 reads: “Robert, I have a solution to proxy voting until the bylaws can be changed. Set up a web go-to-meeting http://www.gotomeeting.com/online/or a webinar http://webinar-services-review.toptenreviews.com/

“Each PC would be assigned an ID and a password that could be changed by the PC. They then could sign participate to the meeting - all voting would be done electronically thus eliminating proxy voting. You could start with the County and State mandatory meetings and then maybe branch it out to LD’s especially those that cover such vast land area. It would also save money and travel time for out-of-town PC’s. With technology there is no use for PC’s to travel across the state taking time away from family and businesses. It’s a win-win. No proxies and every PC can participate.”

Apparently Espinosa’s recommendation made too much sense.  Graham never answered her. After all, we can’t have the Proxy Pigs loosing control of all those proxy votes.  Grassroots PCs got fed up with all the hierarchy shenanigans and the problem has wound up at the legislators doorstep – but their high mucky mucks have grounded it. This issue could have/should have been settled in-house  years ago. - ft   Espinosa is a former PC and a past President of Los Rancheros Republican Women in Scottsdale.

Watching The Ongoing Controversy over HB2012 aka The Proxy Bill, (a proposal that allows one PC Joe Romackto carry a maximum of two proxy votes), prompted a reader/researcher to send in a link to graphic showing LD23 PC Joe Romack as being "FOR" the passage of HB2012. The activist says, "It just goes to show that the PCs involved in the back and forth saga actually agree on being "FOR" HB2012; so they're more united than divided on the matter——especially where it matters most—an important point for everyone to take away from it all." See graphic HERE. For info on the status of HB2012 at the AZ State Legislature website, including Request to Speak (RTS) info, click HEREEditor’s Note:  See more proxy related commentary under “Notes From Readers” . - ft

Activist Nohl Rosen is calling for conservatives interested in participating in a protest against the March for Our Lives rally scheduled at 10 am., Sat., March 24 at the State Capitol. Rosen notes the March For Our Lives rally is a nationwide effort to push for gun control. The counter-demonstration will support the Second Amendment and the US Constitution. Pro Second Amendment supporters are encouraged to bring American flags, their Gadsen flags and their Second flags. Rosen can be reached at 480-980-8541 or https://www.facebook.com/events.

LD25 PC’s Voted Unanimously to adopt an HB2012 Resolution at their March 15 meeting. Henry Haws offered it for signatures, and at least 26 PCs signed it.  When, Chairman Ian Murray called for a vote, the PCs passed it unanimously. The LD25 HB2012 Resolution appears to be the same resolution that LD26 PC Joe Neglia reported was unanimously passed at their March 13 meeting. See 3-14-18 Briefs

CALL TO ACTION

Action Alert!Arizona Citizens Defense League (AzCDL), On Thursday, March 22, the Senate Judiciary Committee will debate AzCDL-requested bills HB 2211 and HB 2212.  If these bills don't pass out of committee this week, they are dead for the session.  The deadline for House bills to be heard in Senate committees (and vice versa) is Friday, March 23.
HB 2211 would add a personal exemption for firearms to the state's bankruptcy statutes.  Currently there is no specific bankruptcy exemption for personal firearms.
HB 2212 would eliminate the restriction that only Arizona peace officers cannot be prohibited from carrying firearms in Arizona.  The proposed law would extend "shall not be prohibited" to any law enforcement officer employed by any jurisdiction (federal, tribal, state, local, etc.) in the U.S.
Since this is the last chance for these bills to get a committee hearing, we going for a double whammy - RTS and a letter to the committee. If you have a valid and active RTS account, please log in here
https://apps.azleg.gov/ and keep your browser open.  Then, click on the links below to register your support for each bill. For HB 2211 go here: https://apps.azleg.gov/RequestToSpeak/New/102305 .
For HB 2212 go here:
https://apps.azleg.gov/RequestToSpeak/New/102316 . If you do not have an RTS account, or even if you do, please click on the links below to send your emails to all the committee members telling them to support these bills during the committee hearing. For HB 2211 go here to send your email to the committee: http://cqrcengage.com/azcdl/app/take-action?engagementId=453514 For HB 2212 go here to send your email to the committee: http://cqrcengage.com/azcdl/app/take-action?engagementId=453653 . Thanks for taking the time to make a difference! These alerts are a project of the Arizona Citizens Defense League (AzCDL), an all-volunteer, non-profit, non-partisan grassroots organization.

Action Alert!Arizona Citizens Defense League (AzCDL), Per a recent article in the Capitol Times, it's not all rainbows and unicorns with Governor Ducey's gun grabbing proposals.  The article reveals that Democrats are unhappy that the Governor's proposals don't go far enough.  They want you disarmed and they want it right now.  Many Republicans are on our side but the Governor's office is putting tremendous pressure on them to support the Governor's proposals. As this was being written, we learned that the Governor is holding back on the introduction of any legislation until next week.  A big factor in that decision may be because of all the millionaire funded and professionally managed anti-rights rallies scheduled for this Saturday, with one of them occurring at the Arizona Capitol. We cannot let an emotion-based protest determine the outcome of a policy debate.  With the over 17,000 emails you have sent, we have the attention of the Legislature.  That's our strength.  It's time for another round.  We have updated the letter to your legislators.  Warm up your keyboards and click on the link below to send a new email to your legislators.  Keep the pressure on!  We have a chance to stop this train wreck from happening. Click here to send your email

NOTES FROM READERS

Opinions expressed by readers are not necessarily those of the Briefs. Commentary running over 400 words is subject to editing

Bob Thorpe LD6Rep Bob Thorpe: Infringing upon our 2nd Amendment Constitutional rights has never and will never stop people who want to harm others, and gun control laws typically only restrict law abiding citizens. Please read this terrific article concerning the facts surrounding gun ownership and the declining violence within our nation. In the article, you'll read that suicides and illegal gun use make up a huge percentage of gun-related deaths, and that people who have a Concealed Weapons Permit are less likely to commit crimes than even police officers! here-are-8-stubborn-facts-on-gun-violence-in-america

tom morrisseyAuthor Tom Morrissey: Interesting article nasty-john-oliver-targets-pence-daughters children’s book…- that appeared in The Ben Shapiro Report, March 20, 2018 regarding the liberal troll attack on Vice President's daughter's newly released book Marlon Bundo’s Day In The Life of the Vice Presidentpublished on Amazon.  My current book, The Way of The Shadow Wolves, has experienced the exact same treatment! It is simply mind boggling that this deep state can be found seeping into every aspect of our lives. While our book can be easily identified with the deep state topic, Charlotte's only crime is to be related to our current Vice President. Please buy her book and provide a fair evaluation to combat this hideous attack of the worst our humanity has to offer: the liberal troll. Apparently, the Amazon comments and rating feature has become a platform to spew their hate. You should know this when researching any book on line. If I see evidence of this type of review, I know it is conservative and I will make the purchase. I hope you will too. Barbara Medal 2PC/SC Barbara Medal: Joe Womack should be ashamed of his moronic attack on Joe RomackJoe Neglia 3-20-18 Briefs but then he always aligns with the moderates. Thanks to those who replied to his mêlée on Joe Neglia which was so typical of this ineffectual blowhard.

So many in the Republican Party would rather fight with fellow Republicans than do what is right to maintaining principles and common sense within the Party. Some Pollyanna’s say, “we just need to get along” - if only we could. The bylaws were terrible and needed to be shut down, it’s a shame the establishment will do anything to remain in power and use underhanded tactics to make it so.

For you Second Amendment supporters out there, you need to speak up regarding our governor’s latest round on gun control. His idea of protecting our kids is asinine and voting for him and his establishment playmates has had consequences that proved dangerous.

Yesterday’s” AzCDL Call to Action” article in the Briefs 3-21-18 Briefs, was disturbing to say the least as noted in this excerpt:“Caution! You may want to wrap your head with duct tape to prevent it from exploding when you read it.  It looks like a propaganda piece from one of Bloomberg's Astroturf groups.  Odds are they had a big hand in writing it. The good news is that many in the Legislature aren't all that excited about what they see in the Governor's plan either.”If you didn’t read it please do, our freedoms are in jeopardy and our children as well, from being indoctrinated and encouraged to oppose our constitution of which they have not been taught even the basics. So many of us remain silent and as active Party members it is up to us to let our fellow PCs and the voters we are supposed to inform and let us not forget the students in our own families;  they all need to be cognizant of the issues.

Frosty, your Briefs are so vital to us, to not only keeping us informed,  but for us to be able to post and share our thoughts and significant information to activists statewide. Thank you for what you do and I encourage everyone to use this essential platform to encourage and inform our fellow patriots.

Tassie Small Campaign HeadshotsLD25 PC/SC Itasca Small Rebuttal to Joe Womack3-20-18 Briefs:Joe RomackWhen you follow Saul Alinsky's Rules for Revolution, you should pick, polarize and demonize the correct target!

1) The meeting consumed nearly four hours because the real business was interrupted by campaign stump speeches! No one interrupted speeches with "non-stop objections" [technically: "motions," or "points of order!"].

2) Joe Neglia and Tim Horn did not pull the ProxyAmendment from the consent calendar!Nor did anyone in our polarized “group” -

3) LD9Chairman Brad Johnsremoved it from the calendar, effectively killing it!

a)if Rule 7.A,requiring a voice vote was employed, the chair would declare it defeated, or,

      b)call for a rule violatingvote that counted proxies—defeated;

c)if it was voted electronically, violating Rule 7.A,the proxies would be counted—defeated.

4)The only way all SCs could’ve voted on it with anopportunity to pass or defeat it, was under Rule 7.A, by voice vote to accept or reject the calendar.

5) Once SC Johns pulled it, it was dead!

6)You further focused your Alinskyite sights on Joe Neglia, Joe Neglia 2calling the LD26 Resolution for proxies to be limited, “hypocritical,” claiming, "he was the very person who prevented a vote to do just that."

Joe, I am the SC who called the point of order proving the electronic balloting on "B,C&D," was out of order in violation of Rule 7.A, and, that [had the electronic balloting been legal], you cannot conduct balloting while the next issues to be decided are being deliberated by the Body! As I then realized I had erred in succumbing to the Chair's decree that the illegal balloting that was then occurring would count, I moved against Jim Dutton’s improperly rejected Motion to Table All Further Action on Bylaws Amendments. LD25 SC Jacque Wilson seconded with warp speed! And after we argued over calling the question, the Chair reluctantly reneged, put the question to the Body, and acknowledged the Motion Carried! Train your Alinskyite sights on me—Itasca Small—the Constitutionalist Republicanwho Providentiallyprevented further time-consuming action on bylaw amendments that were already dead! But, it was LD9’s Brad Johns who killed the Proxy Amendment! not I, nor Joe Neglia, Tim Horn, Jim Dutton, nor anyone else at that egregiously parliamentary procedure-violating meeting!

ELECTED OFFICIALS COMMENTARY

Diane Douglas Supt of EdSupt of Public Instruction Diane Douglas has recognized Santa Cruz Valley Unified School District No. 35 (SCVUSD35) as the winner of theCollege Board’s AP® District of the Year Award. The district was honored as the nation’s leader among small school districts in promoting college readiness and achievement, particularly among traditionally underrepresented student populations. SCVUSD35 simultaneously expanded access to Advanced Placement Program® (AP) courses, while also improving students’ performance on AP Exams. The district’s students, teachers and administrators, as well as College Board leadership and education leaders from throughout the state attended an award ceremony for these achievements atRio Rico High School in Rio Rico on Thursday. “I could not be prouder than I am of the students of Santa Cruz Valley Unified School District No. 35,” Douglas said. “The statistics will tell you that a district with its demographics, which include a high minority and national free and reduced lunch population, should not be able to excel at such a high level. However, by disproving those statistics, this district not only serves as a shining example of what can be accomplished with exceptional leadership and hard work in Arizona, but it also provides a phenomenal blueprint for all of the other small schools in the country.” SCVUSD35 is a growing school district that covers approximately 267 square miles, operates five schools and instructs approximately 3,500 students. The students’ average test scores improved more dramatically between third and eighth grade than those of the average student in the country, placing SCVUSD35 in the top 99th percentile in national growth rates. In addition, when compared to the 45 million public school students in more than 11,000 school districts across the United States, the district’s standardized test scores from 2009-15 improved much more dramatically between third and eighth grade than the average student’s. The average SCVUSD35 student’s test scores increased by roughly 6.125 grade-length equivalents in the five years between third to eighth grade.
