Marsha Hill, Former Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Posse Commander, has announced her candidacy for Sheriff of Maricopa County. Hill feels her unique perspective and knowledge from numerous meetings inside the 19th floor has given her insight into how to repair the operation and image of MCSO. She praises the unique MCSO Posses, tents, pink underwear, MASH and plans to keep these, and other programs, operational and strong. However, Hill claims she witnessed people lying to the Sheriff and ignoring orders and that she, too, became victim to some of the internal bullying. I cannot believe, he would allow this to continue,” she says.
Hill said that the Sheriff is mostly a figurehead and a creator of policy, under which, law enforcement and the jails run at the county level. “Arpaio may live another 20 years but he’s already failing in accountability. Posses are down because of the ill treatment by enforcement support. Obvious he is losing control and will be distracted for a long time with the court orders and supervision of the monitors”.
Hill was cleared in June, by Attorney General Mark Bronovich, of allegations (originating at the Sheriff’s office) of wrong doing in the operation of a 501c3 which was used to pay bills for vet work and special diets for animals at both mash units. Bronovich’s letter to the Sheriff’s office, the AG said he could find no wrong doing and “no probable cause” for the investigation. Hill was the commander of the Animal Posse when asked for $200,000; which was rejected by the board of directors. Although the Animal Posse has disband, the 501c3 continues as the Alliance for Arizona Animal Protection under Hill’s chairmanship.
Hill, a former image consultant to multinational corporations, such as PanAm, Siemens, 3M, Marriott, and Hilton Hotel’s, wants to streamline the MCSO to run with the efficiency and accountability of a large company.
Her roots are in Arizona where her grandfather was a Casa Grande cotton farmer. Her parents retired here and she has returned to Arizona as her home. See hill-announces-for-maricopa-county-sheriff

Art Olivas Is Running For Second Vice-Chair of the Maricopa County Republican Committee. Elections will be held at 7 pm, Feb 3 at AZGOP Headquarters, 3501 N 24th St., Phoenix., The MCRC is replacing for the first vice chair Jeni White and second vice chair Aaron Borders due to their removal from office, via vote of the precinct committeemen, during the Jan 16 MCRC Mandatory meeting.
Louise Gosselin, wife of Ronald Gosselin– who is US Senate candidate Clair Van Steenwyk’s campaign manager, could use some of your prayers in her battle with cancer.
Tom Morrissey, AZGOP Immediate Past Chairman: Those who attended the MCRC and the AZGOP meetings saw sessions that could not have been further apart in style, substance and outcome. Hopefully this has opened your eyes to the fact that leadership makes the difference and that politics is a messy, emotional and passion-filled.
I attended the MCRC meeting and saw a leader who allowed the PC's to participate, to express their views, and be a part of the election process. When objections were made, they were heard and judged by long-time fair minded parliamentarian Joe Abate -- they were heard and heard and heard. Both the mandatory and the special county meetings were long and sometimes contentious, but in the end, votes were cast, the PC's participated in the process and the majority determined the final outcome.
One week later, a very different style of meeting took place. Several committees critical to the preparation and edification of the state committeemen (SCs) were held in secret or not at all. An outside parliamentarian was brought in - unknown to the SCs - therefore not vetted. As the meeting transpired, it became clear the intent was to shut down any resolution or nominee (Gabby Mercer's microphone mysteriously shut off), not to the liking of the leadership. Any SC attempting to object was immediately shut down by the gavel or the parliamentarian. The desired outcome was orchestrated from the beginning. The same people who objected strenuously to fairness, and following bylaws and parliamentary procedure at the county meeting, were nowhere to be seen a week later. I guess if you happen to agree with the leadership, it's okay to bend or break the rules. So, the outcome of this meeting was likely determined by the leadership, not necessarily the majority of the state committeemen. We will never know. True examples of Liberty versus Tyranny? Your call, my brothers and sisters.

AJ LaFaro, Maricopa County Republican Committee Immediate Past Chairman: I want to thank all of the volunteers who rallied in the early hours last Saturday morning before the AZGOP Mandatory Meeting to collect petition signatures for the floor resolutions to "Censure Robert Graham" and "Endorse Anyone But McCain".
And to thank the hundreds of State Committeemen who were courageous enough to show their support for both of the floor resolutions by signing the petitions. Many more didn't sign because they felt they would face vicious retribution from the AZGOP and the establishment.
Thanks to Resolutions Chairman Cindy Coleman, committee member Nancy Edwards, the young men and women who helped out, and Judy Hoelscher who videoed the validation and signature verifications. We came together as a team and worked very hard for several hours to successfully accomplish the mission at hand.
We collected enough valid signatures to have both resolutions introduced from the floor. Unfortunately all for naught. Unbeknownst to us, the fix was in.
The travesties that occurred at the AZGOP Mandatory Meeting were outrageous and unacceptable. Like the several hundred state committeemen who were disenfranchised, I am reflecting on the AZGOP's and the Establishments' continued tyranny, intimidation and unilateral actions. Now we know what Fascism looks like firsthand. We are reviewing all of our options at this time, and will possibly be making a statement in the near future. - LD18 Precinct, State Committeeman, National Director - Arizona Republican Assembly (AzRA), Immediate Past Chairman, Maricopa County Republican Committee (MCRC)

Congresswoman Martha McSally: 1 in 4 people are affected by behavioral or mental health disorders. Yet, we still face challenges in meeting the mental health needs of our communities; whether that’s identifying mental illness, treating it, or fighting the negative stigma associated with it that discourages individuals from seeking out help. On Wednesday, I sat down with members of the Southern Arizona mental health community to work out ways in which we can work together to improve our community's response to mental health. Over 30 representatives from area non-profits, hospitals, mental health and veterans organizations, and law enforcement participated. We covered a range of topics and came away with specific, constructive action items, which I look forward to building upon in the coming weeks and months. See roundtable HERE Her bill HERE.

CONGRESSIONAL COMMENTS
Please comply with the 300 word limit policy
Congressman Trent Franks: Recalling his first trip to Washington over 30 years ago: "Thomas Jefferson, whose words marked the beginning of this nation, said, 'The care of human life and its happiness, and not its destruction, is the chief and only object of good government.' The phrase in the 5th Amendment capsulizes our entire Constitution. It says, 'No person shall be deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process of law.' And the 14th Amendment says no State shall deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws. We are a unique nation that is premised on the foundation that we are all created and that’s what makes us all equal.
"Over 30 years ago, I came to Washington, D.C. for the first time as a part of the March for Life. It is truly astonishing to me that so much time has passed, and as thousands descend again upon our Nation’s Capital to stand for the unborn and speak for the voiceless, it is appropriate that we remember and mourn the loss of 53 million little lives that can never stand with us this side of eternity. The loss of their lives and laughter and the gifts they might have brought to this world is a tragedy that is beyond our mortal understanding.
"It is time to open our eyes and allow our consciences to catch up with our technology. It is time for members of the United States Congress to open our eyes and our souls and remember that protecting those who cannot protect themselves is why we are really all here. And it is time for all Americans to open our eyes and our hearts to the humanity of these little unborn children of God and the inhumanity of what is being done to them."
