Republican Briefs
AZGOP Executive Director Matt Kenney: Yesterday evening Chairman Jonathan Lines' wife Rosie, and two of their children were taken to the hospital after a semi broadsided their car. By the grace of God, everyone is alright. But, they are all, understandably, shaken up. Today, please join me in praying for the Lines' family.
La Paz County Chairman Russell Sias: A couple of questions from a Bylaws Committee member who will not be attending the June 17 AZGOP EX Comm meeting: What number determines a quorum? Who gets to decide? The reason I ask is that Ms. Kathie Petsas has steadfastly refused to let anyone, even committee members themselves, know who is actually on the committee. Apparently, Ms. Petsas knows, right? I guess we should just accept her word that she manages to get a quorum to travel to Flagstaff for her bylaws committee meeting, right? When no one knows but her, who the members are, or how many there are, then she is free to decide, right? Does this sound like a party "of the people", or a party "of the sheep" to be led around in the dark? Am I the only one that recognizes the manipulation involved in this sort of circus? Just asking.... Editor’sNote:Briefs sent a note to AZGOP By Laws Committee Chairman Kathie Petsas Wednesday evening asking how many people were on her By Laws Committee. Petsas has not responded at post time.
Yesterday Petsas’ May 24 e-mail to By Laws Committee members was forwarded to Briefs by readers. It reads: If you are receiving this email you are considered to be on the State Bylaws Committee. If you believe this was sent to you in error please reply to ld28chairmanpetsas@gmail.comand Cindyc22@msn.com and let us know. The first 2017 Bylaw Committee meeting will take place after the State Executive Meeting in Coconino County in the cool pines of Flagstaff on Saturday, June 17. The meeting will commence approximately 1:30 p.m. and will end 4 p.m. As the details of the State Committee Meeting are established, the location and time will be confirmed. This will be the first meeting of 3 or 4 we will have. Homework:
· If you haven’t already please today send a copy of the bylaws for your respective County or LD to ld28chairmanpetsas@gmail.com and copy cindyc22@msn.com– we have many but not all yet…
· Attached are the State Bylaws – please review them prior to June 17.
· Any proposed change to the state bylaws should be typed. Please indicate the article and section, the suggested phrasing along with your name, County or Legislative District. The language in the bylaws should be simple and straightforward. Please do not provide a “case” for what you are proposing that will come when we all discuss the options in person. Providing suggested revisions in writing will keep us all organized as to what is being proposed. If you have a suggestion before the first meeting, if you send it to Cindy and me by June 14, we can make copies for the meeting – if you bring it that day please bring 20 copies.
· Keep in mind we are gathered to clarify any ambiguities in the bylaws and be in compliance with the statute.
Organization:
· Representatives on the Bylaw Committee should be state committeemen, thus elected precinct committeemen. If the County or LD did not elect PCs during the primary election, you can have a representative on the committee however they will not have a vote. Eligible County and Legislative District representatives to the Bylaw Committee will have one vote.
· There will not be alternates or substitutes to the Bylaw Committee, this will allow for greater consistency and consideration of everyone’s limited time. Of course if someone is unable to serve then they will be replaced.
· Meetings will be conducted in person, this will help build consensus for the work ahead. There will be no “call in” they will not be taped. To keep meetings organized and flowing we will follow Robert’s Rules of Order.
· Attendees to the Bylaw Committee: the Bylaw Committee representative; the Chairman of the County or LD (as an observer), if they appointed someone else to serve; the State Party legal counsel; and the State Party Chairman an ex officio member of the committee.
Cindy and I look forward to seeing you June 17. -- Kathy Petsas, State Bylaws Committee Chairman, LD28 Chr and Cindy Coleman, Co-Chairman Bylaws Committee, LD10.
Activist Frank Emiro: Senator Flake made it out safe. People and politicians need to say our Republic not democracy! Say our American Flag Pledge of Allegiance.
Sen Jeff Flake: What transpired yesterday at a baseball practice in Virginia was scary, but the heroism of the US Capitol Police is something for which we will forever be grateful. Our thoughts and prayers remain with those brave officers and the others wounded in the attack, particularly those who remain in critical condition. The Congressional Baseball Game will go on as scheduled tonight (Thurs). This game is an opportunity for members of Congress to come together to enjoy America’s pastime, solidify friendships across party lines, and is a reminder of their shared goal to improve this great nation. Members play to support several great charities that help the youth of Washington as well as the US Capitol Police Memorial Fund. We hope you’ll join us in supporting the Congressional Baseball Game Charity today.
Yavapai County Activist Francis Emma Barwood: In all my 73 years, I have never seen such hatred spewed by so many against a duly elected President. It is appalling! It shows the primitive lower mind rules the liberals and a few deranged RINOs. scalise-shooting: of course-this-was-going-to-happenBarwood is a former Phoenix City Councilwoman.
Activist Elaine Gangluff: Just yesterday I read what is apparently old news that Qatar is the largest supporter of terrorism in the Middle East ("The American Report"). Heard on radio this morning that the U.S. has agreed to sell $12B worth of fighter jets to Qatar? Took two seconds to confirm online. I've sent a message to John McCain asking why we are doing this and requested a response. Wonder if I will get one? I find this troubling.
Tom Morrissey, Past Chairman AZ GOP: Wednesday evening (June 14)a group of patriots gathered to celebrate the birthday of one of recent history's greatest lawman Joe Arpaio. Approximately 150 had a wonderful time while showing their love and respect for this man and his lovely wife Ava. After singing a resounding "Happy Birthday" to Sheriff Arpaio, Liz Alcorn thanked everyone for being there. I read the greetings sent through me by Steven Seagal and Ted Nugent, written especially for Sheriff Joe. I was honored to have the occasion to tell the story of how the sheriff cleared the roadway that was blocked by demonstrators during President Trumps huge rally in Fountain Hills last summer. Quite a story. Senator John Kavanagh regaled Sheriff Joe, as only he can do, with a hilarious grab bag full of joke gifts. The birthday cake was delicious and we all left the event with smiles on our faces. The hosts for the event were: Dave and Liz Alcorn, Cyndi Love, Roberta and Alex Meluskey and my wife Kris and I. We were also celebrating the birthday of our great President Donald J Trump. Both of these men share more than the same birthday. They also share suffering the slings and arrows of the Establishment Elite in both political parties and the main street media. And both these men drive these entities crazy. I'm loving it. Editor’s note: (Vera Anderson photo)
Call to Action: Activist are neededto attend the June 21 Phoenix City Council meeting to oppose the proposed increase to the Public Safety Debt. See memos from Councilman Sal DiCiccio andlong-time GOP Activist Wes Harris in the June 10 Briefs6-10-17-briefs
Arizona National Republican Committeewoman Lori Klein Corbin - CALL TO ACTION #1: It is time for all freedom loving Americans to tell our Congressional Leaders and the Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee to STOP THE WITCHHUNT. They were elected to pass legislation, to repeal and replace Obamacare, tax and immigration reform, deregulation JOBS, JOBS, JOBS. That is the agenda upon which we THE PEOPLE elected President Donald J. Trump. Clearly there is no substance or reason legally to continue to investigate collusion or obstruction of justice by President Trump. It is a red herring and Trump was not outside the law or his executive privilege to fire or discuss the investigation as he is Comey's boss… period. He serves at the pleasure of the President who does not have to give a reason for firing or discontinuing what we all know is a witch hunt. The efforts by “the swamp” in Washington, the Democrats, and Leftist Media are a three ring circus to degrade our President, grandstand, see themselves on television, protect the status quo and to abrogate their responsibility to the American people. The Republican Senate Chairmen should be ashamed of themselves for even allowing this charade to continue.CALL TODAY AND DEMAND OUR Elected officials STOP the harassment and get down to the business of the American people --- Chairman of the Senate Select Intelligence Community Richard Burr, (202) 224-3121, Senator President Mitch McConnell (202) 224-2541 and House Speaker Paul Ryan (202) 225-0600. CALL the White House (202) 456-1111 or (202) 456-1414 and tell the President that he should fire the special counsel Mueller as there is no crime. Mueller clearly has a conflict of interest since he has a close personal relationship with former FBI Director James Comey. Rosenstein had no business stating in a public hearing that he would refuse to fire Mueller if the President directed him to do so. He works at the pleasure of the President but obviously has his own bias having worked for the Obama Administration which has not upheld the law as we witnessed with Loretta Lynch directing the FBI to do her bidding to clear Hillary Clinton, not admit that there was an investigation, and to call it a “matter”. If anyone has obstructed justice it was Loretta Lynch.
Arizona National Republican Committeewoman Lori Klein Corbin - CALL TO ACTION #2:: Americans need to CALL for a special investigation into Loretta Lynch’s role in pressuring the FBI to cover for Hillary Clinton. The Clinton’s and their Foundation, along with the AG’s office and White House complicity should be investigated for the pay to play scandal. And reopen the email scandal whereby classified documents were leaked to foreign players including the Russians who procured 20% of the US uranium supply under Hillary Clinton. We the people want answers and for those guilty of violating our laws to be brought to justice. We are talking Treasonous activity. And if it leads to the former AG and FBI Director and other intelligence agencies that covered for their superiors - they, too, need to be brought to justice. Talk about obstruction of Justice. We need to get to the bottom of the corruption in Washington. The American people deserve the truth If our Intelligence Agencies have been compromised, as witnessed by Comey’s testimony. No wonder foreign nations will not share their intelligence with us. They are afraid of leakers - which we witnessed - when England was attacked and our intelligence agencies released information to the New York Times that compromised England’s investigation. You have to wonder if Comey was behind those leaks as well as the ones that he claims led to a special prosecutor to try to take down our President. WE HAVE TO TAKE ACTION. CALL TODAY!!! Each phone call to a Congressional Office is worth 1,000 letters (which are thrown in the trash bin). Ask our elected officials to stop the Witch Hunt and get down to business. CALL for the Obama holdovers at the Justice Department and all other government agencies to be fired immediately. They are not only obstructing justice but violating their position as subordinates to our President. We can no long afford our intelligence agencies to act like rogue agents of the international cabal that disrespects our President and the American people. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Call today.
Ken Starr: No Evidence Yet That Trump Obstructed Justice. Ken Starr, the former independent counsel who investigated President Bill Clinton, said Thursday it will likely be hard to show President Trump obstructed justice, and said no evidence made public so far supports that charge. "It's too soon to tell," Starr said on CNN.Watch Here"From what I have seen, and of course we don't know a whole lot, the answer is no. … "Obstruction of justice is really a very hard crime to make out," he said. "It's not just, you want the investigation to go away, you suggest that the investigation goes away. You've got to take really affirmative action." (Washington Examiner, 6/15/17 Starr also said the language Trump used in that talk with Comey probably helps Trump's case. “His literal language was, 'hope,'" Starr said. "And I think that that redounds to the benefit of the president.""He's saying, 'Golly, I sure wish this would go away, it's in the way of my agenda. I need to run the country, and this is a terrible distraction, I hope you can see your way clear,'" Starr added. "That to me, just the language, is far removed from a directive." (Washington Examiner, 6/15/17)

CANDIDATE STATEMENTS
300 word limit. If statements exceed the limit, it will be edited.
US Senate candidate Kelli Ward: It’s outrageous that taxpayers are forced to subsidize left-wing local governments who ignore our immigration laws and provide sanctuary to some of the most violent and dangerous criminals anywhere. We need a Senator who will stand up and fight against illegal immigration and will work to deport the violent criminals being given sanctuary by do-gooder liberal politicians more concerned about the so-called ‘rights’ of illegal aliens than the rights of American citizens — Jeff Flake isn't up to the task.
