sheriff joe arpaio 4

For those claiming former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio should step out of the primary election US Senate race between himself, Kelli Ward, and Martha McSally instead of splitting the Republican vote for the Aug 28 Primary election, it appears the popular former sheriff is moving full steam ahead by turning in more than 10,000 signatures to the Secretary of State’s office in Phoenix on May 22, 2018.

rob haneyFormer Maricopa County Republican Committee Chairman Rob Haney, told The Wanderer on May 14 there’s irony in the fact that schools, which strive for being bully-free, have their own sets of bullies. “Teacher-union members are in the forefront of discussions on how to stop bullying in our schools. However, the teachers are using Democrat Party bullying tactics to intimidate others,” Haney said. “They have just closed Arizona schools by an illegal strike of public employees, which left parents and students in an untenable situation. They also caused major disruptions on our streets as they marched by the thousands to the state executive and legislative offices, screeching and shouting to demand a huge pay raise. And they shunned fellow teachers who opposed the strike,” he said. “Much like the Democrats in Washington, D.C., they will suffer no adverse consequences for their acts. Our children are being taught the abusive art of bullying by their teachers, who pretend to be opposed to bullying. The teacher unions give 93 percent of their political donations to the Democrat Party. In this case, the teachers bullied a Republican legislature and governor into submitting to their demands,” Haney said. “Far from the Republicans winning union votes by their capitulation, they have now energized the Democrat base to vote out Republicans in the fall. This is reminiscent of RINO Sen. John McCain supporting Comprehensive Immigration Reform to kill the Republican Party with millions of new Democrat Party voters,” Haney said, adding: “The only answer I see to the destructive tactics of teacher unions is for parents to home-school or send their children to private schools, thus preventing the Democrat Party unions from possessing the minds of their children.” See Teacher-Strike Movement . . . carole bartholomeauxActivist Carole Bartholomeaux: Wonderful tribute to the men and women who have served our country for more than 200 years. I could not have said it better myself. 5-26-18-briefs When I was a girl, Phoenix was my "small home town" and my memories correlate with yours. Have a blessed and happy Memorial Day weekend and please take time to thank a Veteran.

brian reillyBrian Reilly, Former LD22 PC: Maricopa County Oath Keepers Coordinator Mike Primiano responded to Randy Miller in the 5-26-18-briefs : “NY state passed the SAFE Act a few years ago randy Millerin response to the shootings at Sandy Hook. That law was challenged a number of times by various groups until it reached the state Supreme Court and was upheld on every count but one, they overturned the seven round magazine limit because seven round magazines don't exist. The state later amended the law to say you can possess a ten round magazine but can only have seven rounds loaded unless you are at a gun range.”  Mr. Primiano went on to say: “Don't sit there and slam people as misguided and ill-informed based on your personal opinion of how you interpret the Constitution.” I find it interesting that the most brilliant constitutional experts of the New York Supreme Court and Mr. Primiano apparently believe the spurious opinion that “seven round magazines don’t exist.” One of the most famous weapons of war is the "Colt 1911" semi-automatic pistol which shoots the .45ACP round.  The Colt 1911 was designed by John Browning in conjunction with Colt’s Pat’d Firearms Co. at the beginning of the 20th century, at the request of the U.S. Army.  The first Colt 1911 was produced for the U.S. Government on December 28, 1911.  The Colt 1911 is still in production today by Colt Manufacturing and it has experienced continuous service for 107 years.  It was and is one of the most popular, robust, firearms in history, and it was used by our military in WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and most recently by the U.S. Marine Corps Special Operations Command.  The Colt 1911 immediately became popular with the American public after it was produced for the commercial market beginning on March 9, 2012.  The non-military version Colt 1911 became known as the “Government Model.” The Colt 1911 has also been called “America’s favorite handgun.” It was shipped with 7 round magazines!  I wouldn’t put my faith in any New York Supreme Court Rulings, especially when it comes to the U.S. Constitution and firearms.

ELECTED OFFICALS COMMENTARY

Steve ChucriSteve Chucri,, Maricopa County Board of Supervisors Chairman: This weekend, we pause to reflect upon the selfless men and women who have honorably served our nation and state and made the ultimate sacrifice to allow us our freedom.  We pay tribute to their memory and remain forever indebted to them for their service.  We remember those Arizonans currently serving, both at home and abroad, and continue to pray for their safe return.I hope you and your family have a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend.

Clint Hickman, #4 Bd of SuperClint Hickman, Maricopa County Board of Supervisors: Memorial Day: 2018 marks the 150th anniversary of Memorial Day, honoring the men and women who died while serving the U.S. military.  This year also marks the 100th anniversary of the death of Lt. Frank Luke Jr., the namesake of Luke Air Force Base.  Luke Jr. was born in Phoenix, Arizona on May 19, 1897 and known as one of the best athletes at Phoenix High School.  At the age of 20 he enlisted and entered World War I and became known as the “Arizona Balloon Buster”.  In just 17 days he took down 14 German balloons and four aircraft and on September 29, 1918 he was killed in action. We remember Lt. Frank Luke Jr. as well as the many men and women who died serving our Nation – I remain grateful for their service.  In your service,

Paul Gosar 2016CD4 Congressman Paul Gosar after Gosar”s “Downwinders Amendment” number 63 amendment to H.R. 5515 - National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2019 passed on the House Floor: “As a result of our nation’s Cold War security strategy many Arizonans and thousands of innocent Americans were exposed to cancer-causing carcinogens from atmospheric nuclear tests,” said Gosar. “I support our military's efforts to secure and protect our nation from hostile nuclear threats. However, Congress and the federal government have a clear responsibility to provide remuneration for all victims that developed radiation-induced cancer from these federal tests. I will not relent until justice is served and suffering Americans receive some form of compensation for the government negligence that ruined many of their lives. The passage of this amendment is a step in the right direction.”

Congressman Andy Biggs: US Rep. Andy Biggs: Change Senate rules that hinder GOP pro-life agenda

john mccain 2Senator John McCain: “I applaud President Trump for issuing a posthumous pardon of boxing legend Jack Johnson, whose reputation was ruined by a racially charged conviction over a century ago. For years, Congress has overwhelmingly supported legislation calling on multiple U.S. presidents to right this historical wrong and restore this great athlete's legacy. President Trump's action today finally closes a shameful chapter in our nation’s history and marks a milestone that the American people can and should be proud of.” As a life-long boxing fan, Senator McCain has been introducing legislation in the Senate urging the President to pardon Jack Johnson since 2004. A resolution urging a posthumous pardon was unanimously approved by both the House and Senate in the 114th Congress, as well as the 111th Congress, the first time since 1974 that both chambers passed a concurrent resolution calling for a posthumous pardon of an individual. Additionally, the resolution passed the House in the 110th Congress and passed the Senate in the 108th and 113th Congresses. Senators McCain and Cory Booker (D-NJ) reintroduced a resolution in March of 2017 urging President Trump to issue a posthumous pardon of Jack Johnson. Jack Johnson was born in Galveston, Texas on March 31, 1878 and in 1908, he became the first African American World Heavyweight Boxing Champion after defeating Tommy Burns in Australia – a title Johnson held until 1915. Johnson’s success in the boxing ring, combined with his relationship with a Caucasian woman, caused resentment. In 1913, he was wrongly convicted under the Mann Act – an anti-human trafficking statute – when he brought the woman he was dating across state lines. This racially-motivated conviction ruined his career and destroyed his reputation.

Martha McSally 3Congresswoman Martha McSally Draws a Hard Line on Immigration Loopholes on FOX News: In a Border and Maritime Security Subcommittee hearing she chaired yesterday, McSally blasted loopholes in our existing immigration laws that allow MS-13 gang members, drug cartels, human traffickers and others to enter the country. "Individuals have learned how to exploit the system," said McSally during the hearing. "It should surprise no one that many of those who claim asylum do not ever show up for their court date, most likely because their claim is unfounded in the first place." Congresswoman McSally summarized several of the major loopholes and the policies necessary to address them in her statements below. First, the United States needs to raise the standard for the initial asylum interview that happens at the border. The second is to hold individuals as long as it takes for them to have due process while their asylum claims are adjudicated. Third, serious criminals, gang member, or terrorists should be unequivocally prohibited from entering the country. Fourth, require a swift removal if the asylum claim is denied. Fifth, terminate asylum status for those who return back to their country. Sixth, expeditiously return of unaccompanied minors to non-contiguous countries. Finally, increase the penalties for false asylum claims in order to deter and hold people accountable. Because these loopholes are written into law, only Congress can act to close them. Legislative solutions to close these gaps are included in the Securing America’s Future Act, which Congresswoman McSally authored with Representatives Goodlatte, McCaul, and Labrador. It is the only border security bill the President supports. Click HERE or below to watch her remarks in committee.
