Slaton emphasizes, “We support TIffany Shed, not Smith…Tiffany has a clear understanding of not only rural issues which concern citizens of CD-1, she has strong conservative back bone to support President Trumps Agenda.” - ft

Political Sign Placement advice from former LD22 PC Brian Reilly: You may wish to notify your readers and campaign supporters that after actions that my wife Denise and I took with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, political campaign sign posters may now post their political signs on the NE corner of the intersection of R.H. Johnson Blvd. and Meeker Blvd in Sun City West. This is the corner adjacent to the Lord of Life Lutheran Church. Place political signs on the street side of the boundary line. I'm told that this church has interfered with the posting of political signs for the past twenty years. The MCSO has warned the church that it is a Class 2 Misdemeanor to damage or remove political signs that are lawfully posted. Do not cross the boundary line moving toward the church as you will be posting on church property and the signs may be legally removed.Post signs as close to the sidewalk (touching the edge of the sidewalk if possible) to eliminate any questions regarding sign placement within the church's property line. (Heep's and Dowling's signs have now been up for weeks now without issue.) –

AzFRW President Loraine Bennett Pellegrino: The Arizona chapter of Americans for Prosperity urges the citizens of Arizona to vote NO on the state’s income tax hike proposal, the so-called “Invest in Education” proposal. This proposition would turn Arizona into a high-tax state, hurt our state’s small business owners, and put teacher pay in jeopardy. It would be the largest permanent tax increase in Arizona history, making Arizona’s top income tax rate the fifth-highest in the country and the highest in the Southwest region. Floating Around The Net: The king wanted to go fishing, and he asked the royal weather forecaster the forecast for the next few hours. The palace meteorologist assured him that there was no chance of rain. So the king and the queen went fishing. On the way he met a man with a fishing pole riding on a donkey, and he asked the man if the fish were biting. The fisherman said, "Your Majesty, you should return to the palace. In just a short time I expect a huge rain storm." The king replied: "I hold the palace meteorologist in high regard. He is an educated and experienced professional. Besides, I pay him very high wages. He gave me a very different forecast. I trust him." So the king continued on his way.
However, in a short time a torrential rain fell from the sky. The King and Queen were totally soaked. Furiously I , the king returned to the palace and gave the order to fire the meteorologist. Then he summoned the fisherman and offered him the prestigious position of royal forecaster. The fisherman said, "Your Majesty, I do not know anything about forecasting. I obtain my information from my donkey. If I see my donkey's ears drooping, it means with certainty that it will rain." So the king hired the donkey. And thus began the practice of hiring dumb asses to work in influential positions of government. The practice is unbroken to this date. Thus, the democratic party symbol was born.

NOTES FROM READERS
Opinions expressed by readers are not necessarily those of the Briefs. Briefs does NOT endorse pre-primary candidates. Comments running over 400 words are subject to editing. - ft.
LD1l3 candidate Trey Terry: Frosty, it is obvious campaign season is heating up. On Saturday there was a note here from a “Mike Howell” who claims he knows me well and my beliefs. I want to set the record straight. I don’t know a Mike Howell. I’ve never met a Mike Howell. I’ve definitely never had “many trips on the road” or “many conversations” with him. Likely, this is someone working for my liberal opponents using a false name in an attempt to blatantly lie to your readers. Here is the truth. I am a conservative on every issue, especially on immigration. I strongly believe in securing the border and oppose any effort towards amnesty, including the unconstitutional DACA. I would point voters toward the many people who actually know me. Sheriff Mark Lamb, State Senator Steve Smith, State Representatives Darin Mitchell, Anthony Kern, Mark Finchem, Vince Leach, Jay Lawrence, and many other conservative leaders know this is a bold-faced lie. I campaigned with Sheriff Joe Arpaio in 2016 and have never voted for John McCain in a primary in my life. The voters of LD13 can either trust the word of a US Army combat veteran and all these conservatives from around Arizona who have known me for years, or the claims of someone I’ve never met writing less than a week before voting begins.
Activist Teresa Mendoza: Any else confused as to why a known, respected conservative Congressman David Schweikert is appearing in Martha McSally's ads? Well I was wondering the same and called his office to ask why he is endorsing McSally or McAmnesty as I like to call her. A very nice man Robert answered the phone and told me Schweikert has not officially endorsed her and there is no connection to her. I hope Schweikert publicly clarifies this soon. That commercial is very misleading but I guess MsSally and the RINOs that back her have to use trickery to get us to believe she is a real conservative. As a new Republican, it frightens me to think that AZ would elect another RINO pilot that will be a medical wonder like McCain is (one head and two faces). I am praying AZ chooses right this time!
Prescott Valley PC Merrianne Geisdorf: Itasca Small is running as a LD25 senate write-in candidate. She can and will win if she gets support from the district. We complain that it is difficult to find good conservative people to run for office. Well, here's one who is putting herself out there - so help her. If you get the word out, help her put up signs, donate time/money, she will win! You want conservative representation in the State Senate - help/supportItasca Small Contact her at www.ItascaSmall.com
Larry Sorenson: Reg 7-28-17 Briefs. Wonderful effort. Thank you.
Activist Zack Taylor: The Missing Context: General Loan's Shooting of the Viet Cong Terrorist "Context is everything," goes an old saying. Unfortunately, the PBS Documentary "The Vietnam War" did not provide the context of the most iconic photo of the war-that of General Nguyen Ngoc Loan executing a Viet Cong terrorist. Timothy Schwartz: Poll: Republicans Are More Likely To Agree With Trump Than Republican Congressmen - The Daily Caller: A majority of Republicans say that their view on major issues facing America most closely align with President Trump, according to a new poll. Read the full story
LD25 State Committeeman Nancy Cottle: Thanks for all you do Frosty. Welcome back.
Teacher Roxann Granger: I’m a middle school public educator, constitutional conservative, and I strongly believe we must teach our children to develop critical thinking skills while preparing for the 21st century job market. We must have the support of elected officials to ensure our classrooms are properly equipped for the 21st century demands, that our profession has the respect it deserves and that our voices will be heard. I believe Wendy Rogers will be the advocate we desperately need in Arizona and Washington, D.C. The following two paragraphs are direct quotes from Wendy regarding my questions about her support for public education.
· “As a colonel in America’s Air Force, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside those who’ve sacrificed everything to serve our nation, many of whom have transitioned into our country’s education system. The future of our nation may be protected by our armed forces, but the other guardians are the men and women in the classrooms. Never before has a profession been so woefully underfunded, disrespected or misunderstood. Everyone, from politicians to parents, has been complicit in the continued degradation of our most precious resource: our children.”
· “As a former homeschooling parent, I understand the difficulties of teaching children and when I’m elected I will put emphasis on the importance of education and will work day and night to return power away from Washington and put it back into the hands of parents, teachers and local communities…. I will do everything I can as your congresswoman to make education local again.”
My fellow Americans, if you want an Arizonan who supports 21st century education, President Trump, veterans and the U.S. Constitution, then I ask you to vote for Lt. Col. Wendy Rogers on Aug. 28! Find out more at www.wendyrogers.org
AFA Team: AZSOS candidate, Steve Gaynor, quotes the rabid liberal Arizona Repubic newspaper as blaming current AZSOS Michele Reagan for the mess that became the Presidential Preference Primary election in Arizona. It was, of course, Maricopa County Recorder Helen Purcell who made the decision about the number of polling places for that election. She clearly underestimated the excitement generated by Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump. Purcell has taken full responsibility, correctly. She ran the Elections Department. Not mentioned was the huge turnout of Independents wanting to vote and clogging the lines. Independents cannot vote in the Presidential Preference Primary and none of the got early ballots, of course. So they stood in the lines, creating a nightmare of waiting time. Added to that is that the Board of Supervisors signed off on the plan Ms. Purchell presented, which is their job. I know Mr. Gaynor knows all of this and if he doesn't, he should get up to speed on the facts. Of course, he doen't want to reveal such facts since his entire campaign is Anti-Reagan. Hmmm, that sounds a lot like the campaign Hillary Clinton waged against Donald Trump. Edith Stock rightly pointed out Gaynor's donations to democrats. He claimed he donated to Ted Lieu and Steny Hoyer because they "supported Israel," a point AFA also reported on in our June 27 article. Bulletin: most all Republicans also strongly support Israel AND America. Were none of them worthy of those donations? Steny Hoyer is classified as one of the most liberal members of Congress and is an Anti-Trump resister. We would like to see if Mr. Gaynor has a platform other than scary photos of Reagan ads and false accusations. That is a critical office for Republicans to keep this election. Gaynor owes it to voters to reveal his vision and plans for the future of Arizona.... if he has one. We are waiting. -The AFA Team, www.arizonafreedomalliance.org
Dale Gohr of Clarkdale: Where do the Leftists, Democrat, Socialist, Totalitarians get their thought process that makes them think (If they do; ‘Think’) they want to do away with our borders, immigration laws and ICE in particular. How idiotic can you get? Do you really want to revert to a lawless, law of the jungle scenario? I doubt seriously you can find one of them that does not have barriers of some kind surrounding their personal living spaces; like home, storage area, vehicle(s), etc. The thoughtless practice of espousing an opinion without first considering the consequences that can be generated by the view expressed can be devastating. Anarchy is a terrible and delusional monstrosity that sounds good to the ignorant minds that have no knowledge of what that madhouse style menagerie truly represents. There is nothing pretty or pleasing about it; even if you fancy yourself as the primary zoo keeper!
To switch gears a bit; there is an actress who is denouncing ‘White Privilege’ because an 18-year-old Oakland, CA black woman was killed by a demented white man. Because of this she had to reassess her White Privilege because she claims all Black Women are cowering in fear of White Men. This doesn’t make sense because bigotry and male-dominance or superiority is an irrational and fanatical mindset that has nothing to do with race. It is a mental disorder, which is dangerous to anyone that gets in the proximity of someone with that mindset. Unfortunately it can live concealed and people, mainly vulnerable people, need to be extremely watchful at all times. It is a sorry situation and knows no boundaries in; race, color, creed, financial status or even gender. Trying to marginalize this problem by race is beyond ludicrous; it is absurd.
The leftists attempt to abolish ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) is politically motivated and largely financed by persons and entities that are dead set on destroying the capitalistic system or free market economy. These operations are extremely wealthy and have chosen to back the socialistic, totalitarian means of enslaving all they can of the world population in what has been called since the mid to late 1800’s as the “New World Order”. Instigating wars and using whatever religious belief(s) they can to stir up hate and discontent. The one major obstacle to their diabolical onslaught is national sovereignty and that is the reason the leftists want to eliminate national border(s). Thank Almighty God for President Donald J. Trump and his stand against ‘illegal trespassing’. It isn’t that the Socialist/Progressive/Democrats do not know what illegal means; it is just that legal has been removed from their lexicon. We need ICE and the Rule of Law.
Brian Reilly, Former LD22, PC:Nancy Russell Plenchner and Tom Morrissey make important points (July 27, 2018, Briefs) about the need for information transparency and following the rule of law. For our government to run according to our Constitution, the Congress must exercise necessary, Constitutional oversight of the entities that they have created, and that would include the FBI and the DOJ. We all witnessed the testimony of devilish, Peter Strzok, the highly biased, anti-Trump, former Chief of FBI Counterespionage. He was the lead investigator into Hillary Clinton’s private email server debacle. It was reported that Strzok gave Hillary a get out of jail card before she was even interviewed by the FBI. Strzok was also the lead investigator into the alleged Russia/Trump collusion investigation, which many consider a coup d’etat attempt by the Establishment. The House Judiciary Committee continues in their attempts to subpoena relevant documents to reveal the complete picture of the activities of rogue elements in the upper echelons of the FBI and DOJ. Obama’s former FBI and DOJ cohorts have much to hide as they slowly release highly redacted documents to protect and shield the perpetrators. Mr. Morrissey wrote: “Congress has been asking for ALL documents from the Department of Justice regarding the FISA surveillance warrants…the request of Congress has all but been ignored, by the deputy director and federal agents. Mr. Morrissey, a retired United States Marshal, then wrote: “When we were asked a question by a member of Congress or the Senate, we responded at break-neck speed.” These are noble words by Mr. Morrissey. However, when it comes to applying the same standards equally, Mr. Morrissey, apparently, is willing to deviate from his position when it comes to his longtime political friend, former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, who is running for the U.S. Senate. As I recall, Morrissey was a critic of the recent federal Arpaio trial, which resulted in Arpaio’s criminal conviction. The federal court ordered Arpaio to release documents. Arpaio didn’t comply. On July 27, 2015, Reuters reported federal-judge-orders-information-be-seized-from-arizona-sheriff
Arpaio’s Office had failed to legally cooperate with the court. Morrissey’s standards are at best, unequally applied. Arpaio and Strzok should be viewed equally. Both Strzok(D.) and Arpaio(R.) are not above the rule of law. (Editor’s Note: President Donald Trump pardoned Arpaio several months ago.)

EAST VALLEY GOP LEGISLATORS: SOME GREAT, SOME NOT SO GREAT
Looking at Districts 12, 16, 17, 18, 25, and 26 Recommendations in BOLD
Maricopa County’s East Valley has a mixed bag of some great, some not so great legislators. At the top of the list of great is District 12. EDDIE FARNSWORTH is running for the Senate. He’s being challenged by RINO Bob Worsley’s clone, Jimmie Lindblom. No more needs to be said. Mr. Farnsworth is a patriot-warrior and along with his fellow patriot-warrior seatmates TRAVISGRANTHAM and WARREN PETERSEN, who are both running for the House, give the state three of the most conservative and most effective legislators. All are keepers. Nick Myers and Blake Sacha are also running for the House. Mr. Myers is out of his element and Mr. Sacha is out of his mind.
District 16’s DAVID FARNSWORTH, running for re-election to the Senate, is another patriot and a keeper. Two more patriots, KELLY TOWNSEND, running for re-election to the House, and former House member, JOHN FILLMORE, deserve your vote
In District 17, current Speaker of the House JD Mesnard is running unopposed for the Senate. American Post-Gazette has beaten up Mr. Mesnard this year and for good reason. We would like to support his mother, Nora Ellen, who’s running for the House, if for no other reason, she deserves to pay penance for raising Mr. Mesnard, and perhaps can keep an eye on him and straighten him out as needed. It’s a full-time job. But JULIE WILLOUGHBY deserves your vote. Ms. Willoughby introduces herself as “a Christian, mother, wife, and Republican.“ That’s a notable hierarchy of titles and we applaud her. JEFF WENINGER is a patriot-warrior and deserves re-election.
FRANK SCHMUCK is running for State Senate in District 18. Voters can actually be proud to say they have a “Schmuck” for a senator. Pull that lever with pride and a smile. In the House, another patriot-warrior, JILL NORGAARD is running for re-election. GREG PATTERSON, of Espresso Pundit fame, is also running and deserves a chance to make amends.
District 25 has a real chance to make a strong statement for the betterment of the entire State of Arizona. RINO State Senator Bob Worsley is retiring (YESSS!) but has handpicked his successor, the unknown Tyler Pace, nephew of Governor Doug Ducey’s Chief of Staff Kirk Adams. We strongly urge voters to write-in ITASCA SMALL and spare the state the continuing legacy of RINOism from east Mesa. Also, do not vote for incumbent liberal Michelle Udall in the House. She’s a nicer, female version of Bob Worsley. MARLENE HINTON, one of those rare Phd’s with conservative bona fides, deserves your vote. Those two votes: Small and Hinton, will help secure a Constitutionally-based legislature. As will the re-election of RUSTY BOWERS, another patriot-warrior who deserves re-election to the House. And there’s a good chance he could be the new Speaker.
There’s a Daddy-Daughter team running in District 26. REBECCA SPEAKMAN is running for the Senate and JAY SPEAKMAN is running for the House. It’s an uphill battle in the mostly Democrat district, but it would be nice to help Make America (and Arizona) Great Again by taking at least one of those seats. Of all the Democrat-controlled districts, this district is represented by three of the least-effective and, as a group, the goofiest trio in the state: Juan Mendez is the Senator; Isela Blanc and Athena Salman are in the House. - S. Adams
