“Remarkably, those last 6 websites above (LDs 2, 10, 20, 22, 24, 29) share the domain name arizonagop.net. As one story goes, these websites were/are sponsored (paid for) by the AZGOP. Maybe, the AZGOP paid/pay for some County and LD websites, but other Counties and LDs were/are responsible for paying their own way? I used to run the LD24 website. It's been down for over 1 month. I emailed the AZGOP about this (and the other arizonagop.net websites). As per the AZGOP, it's working on resolving the matter. 1 month later, these websites are still down (after 6 months in office). Also, given the scale of the MCRC, imagining it's important the MCRC Chairman see to it all MCRC LDs' websites are: 1) established and 2) up and running. Former Maricopa County Treasure Charles “Hos” Hoskins: I was impressed with Nancy Russell Plencner's insight expressed in the 8-4-17 Briefs. Here is something I wrote many years ago that I referred to often when I was the Maricopa County Treasurer - With over 40 years of public service I have realized that citizens have certain expectations of government. I think most would fall within these five broad categories; SERVICE, INTEGRITY, EFFICIENCY, HARMONY, and ACCOUNTABILITY.
· SERVICE: First, and foremost, they expect government to provide specific services ranging from security to recreation. And, they want government to deliver these services seamlessly and without any inconvenience. Basic Services they expect are:
1. Security – Keep everyone safe and healthy
2. Education – Provide equal opportunity for success
3. Infrastructure – Make everything work as intended
4. Economy – Provide stability and predictability
5. Recreation – Facilities for enjoyment of leisure time
· INTEGRITY: They expect elected officials, appointed bureaucrats, and hired employees to do what is right, and not try to further their own agendas, ambitions, or beliefs. They strongly resent any type of self-enrichment be it a penny in your pocket to taking a paper clip home for personal use.
· EFFICIENCY: Citizens expect to receive a full return of their tax dollars and used only for the purposes intended. Don’t insult their intelligence by telling them that you can be more effective if you have a fancy office, or that you can better meet their expectations by riding a camel across the Sahara Desert on their dime.
· HARMONY: They expect us to work together for the common good and act in the best interest of those they serve. They strongly resent spending their tax dollars on attorneys to fight each other, lobbyist to twist arms, or information officers to discredit each other. They are especially impatient with those that conduct themselves based upon their own opinions, ideals, ambition, politics, vengefulness, or anything else that is unrelated to the issues.
· ACCOUNTABILITY: They want to be able to monitor everything government does and expect total transparency.
I believe that the citizens of Arizona are realistic and do not expect perfection in government (if they did they would have to find another species to run it), but they certainly expect everyone to make an honest effort to be fair and do what is right.
Former AZ PC Wayne Blair: Has anyone noticed, or do we even give a crap, that a modern day Coup d`etat is taking place in the United States. Robert Mueller and his coven of henchmen, are all devoted Democrats and former allies and employees of the Clinton's, Schumer, etc. The U.S. Senate has named him the special prosecutor in their attempt to usurp the will of the voters. This bloodless Coup is being fueled by the likes of CNN, NBC, CBS, The New York Times (And their ilk), and by the extreme left Associated Press. This bloodless Coup is being fed every day by some leak or some other Democrat appointee, the latest being a bill being introduced in the U.S. Senate (Backed by both the Republicans and Democrats) to prevent the President from firing the completely biased Mueller. The people in this country should be outraged at this joint Coup and start calling their representatives to demand that they stop their Venezuela tactics to take over OUR government. Coup d`etat: Noun: "A sudden and decisive action in politics, especially one resulting in a change of government illegal or by force" [sic} (Or by the press and Congress?)

Brian Reilly, Former LD22PC: On 8-5-17 BriefsRandy Miller wrote, “The order [Joe Arpaio] violated was based on how he was doing it.” There were two parts. First, Arpaio was found guilty of intentionally ignoring a federal court ordered injunction, for 18 months, not to arrest or detain people, without probable cause or reasonable suspicion that a crime had been or was being committed. Secondly, there was no prohibition against the MCSO from making arrests or detaining individuals so long as there was probable cause, that a crime had been committed, as required by the 4th Amendment to the United States Constitution. The court ordered injunction was intended to get the MCSO to operate in compliance with the U.S. Constitution. As conservative Republicans, I would think that we all would want our elected leaders to comply with the Supreme Law of the Land. Complying with the 4th Amendment is basic Law Enforcement, 101. “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.” Former Sheriff Mack wrote on 8-5-17 Briefs: “Bottom line, a federal judge has no authority to tell a sheriff how he must do his job.” I respectfully disagree. If a sheriff is violating the 4th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, a federal court has the judicial power to intervene. Article III., Sec. 2., “The judicial Power [of the United States] shall extend to all cases, in Law and Equity,arising under this Constitution, the Laws of the United States, and Treaties made, or which shall be made under their Authority;…” We agree. Joe Arpaio will never be sheriff again.
