REPUBLICAN BRIEFS
Rep. Trent Franks: "Thursday evening (Dec 7), my wife was admitted to the hospital in Washington, D.C. due to an ongoing ailment. After discussing options with my family, we came to the conclusion that the best thing for our family now would be for me to tender my previous resignation effective today, December 8th, 2017,” according to Franks Communications Director Mitchell Hailstone.
Gov Doug Doucy will call for a special election to replace Franks and potential candidate names are popping up all over the place, including Republicans Peoria Mayor Cathy Carlat, former Gov Jan Brewer, Maricopa County Supervisor Clint Hickman, LD21 Sen Debbie Lesko, LD20 Sen Kimberly Yee, LD13 Rep Steve Montenegro, Sheriff Joe Arpaio, former commissioner Bob Stump, former legislator Phil Lovas, Glendale Mayor Jerry Weiers and GOP lobbyist, former Republican legislator Stan Barnes and former candidate Clair Van Steenwyk. In the meantime, some of Frank’s supporters think he should run again and others say Speaker Paul Ryan urged Franks immediate resignation to make things easier for Ryan and Senate Speaker Mitch McConnell to continue their anti-conservative shenanigans without Franks assured conservative vote. And some folks think Ryan and McConnell’s need to resign in lieu of their un-kept promises and Anti-Trump behaviour. And then there is the question lingering in the air as to whether Franks misbehaved or are we getting distorted versions. Regardless, Arizona getting a black eye when two of the congressional delegations (Franks and Dem Raul Grijalva) are facing some pretty ugly allegations. – ft

Activist Don and Patti Woolley of Sahuarita: DHS Announces Progress in Enforcing Immigration Laws, Protecting Americans - Yesterday, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced its end-of-year immigration enforcement numbers, the results of a year-long return to enforcing the law, upholding the integrity of our lawful immigration system, and keeping America safe. In Fiscal Year (FY) 2017, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reported 310,531 apprehensions nationwide, 303,916 of which were along the Southwest border, underscoring the need for a physical barrier at the border. Additionally, in FY 2017, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Removal Operations (ERO) conducted 143,470 arrests and 226,119 removals. See https://www.ice.gov/topics/fy2017
Arizona Town Crier Jim Ehl: According to the “Only Official Newsletter of the Arizona Republican Party we had an incredibly successful ‘Packing Party’ at the Arizona Republican Party during lunch on Wednesday! Over 40 dedicated volunteers showed up to help us sort and pack items such as snacks, holiday cookies, toiletries, and seasonal gifts to send to our troops oversea” That’s nice, one would think that with thousands of positions for Precinct Committeemen being available through the state, and hundreds of Precinct Committeemen being elected that for 40 to show up to help could be deemed ‘incredibly successful.’ But for anyone who wants to know what is going on with the AZ GOP, our thanks goes to ‘Frosty’ Taylor and John Strasser for their work with the MCRC (Republican) Briefs. In the 12/12-8-17-Briefs, there are a number of good articles worth reading about what is going on with the AZ GOP. If one compares the information presented in “The only Official Newsletter of the Arizona Republican Party” with the “MCRC Briefs”, one will see that there is a ‘hands down’ difference. Does the unelected AZ GOP Communications Director for AZ GOP get paid?? If so, how much? And, who pays “Frosty’ and John??? Just wondering! Editor’s Note: The AZGOP Comm Director is a paid staff position. Briefs is a complimentary Republican newsletter put out by Taylor and computer guru Strasser – both are unpaid volunteers.
Radio Talk Show Host Clair Van Steenwyk: CD8 – Don’t rush to judgement. I’m receiving comments asking my opinion about the unfortunate situation with CD 8's Rep Trent Franks. With this response, I hope themessages to Jean & I will cease. We believe this is an unfortunate situation and trust that this is a private family matter for Trent and his family. I believe it would be best for no one to make the rush to judgement. Some already have and others are asking us to. We ask those who are so readily commenting to restrain themselves and allow them to deal with this privately. I would also suggest that all can be very thankful that they're not in public life and target practice for some. Please rather than attack or make other hurtful comments take the time out to pray for Rep. Franks, his wife & family. We hope this doesn't harm the children as they'll more than likely be targets and possibly the main reason Rep. Franks has decided to resign rather than expose them to the Unforgiving Comments - especially in the Press, Let us all thank God it's not us and Pray for all of them.
State Senator Steve Montenegro regarding Congressman Trent Franks: “I was sorry to learn that Congressman Trent Franks is stepping down from Congress although I know he is doing what he believes to be right and honorable. It has been the honor of my lifetime to work for, learn from, and be mentored by Congressman Trent Franks. He is a man of integrity who has served his faith, values, and constituents with distinction. His leadership and resolve will be greatly missed and history will look kindly on his hard work on behalf of the unborn, those around the world living without liberty, and the safety of our great nation. On a personal level he was like my second father, and his advice has changed my life in so many ways. Thank you Trent for all that you have done for your country from those of us who have been blessed to work with you.”
PC Bob Richards to Congressman Trent Franks: We know your heart as a believer in Jesus Christ & have work for your election campaigns for many years. You have served your constituents with honor & unwavering steadfastness for causes of family, freedoms, faith, and more particularly our Constitution and our Founders intent for our Nation to be " One Nation Under God to life, liberty & the pursuit of happiness". Paul Ryan's forcing your resignation from Congress after serving 8 consecutive terms has more to do with you as a member of the "Freedom Caucus" than anything else, as I see it. (That he, Ryan can't control that Caucus). So sad. But be glad you're out of the "Washington Swamp"& can be home with family & friends in 2018 & beyond. One question remains. Who do you endorse for your replacement come April elections to fill your Congressional seat? Please advise.. It's been my pleasure serving with you as a Beardsley Precinct Committeeman for many years & will continue the fight for freedoms that we've always both agreed that are important to our Nation. Until we meet again. PS Thanks for nominating Patrick to USAFA who graduated with the Class of 2016 commissioned as 2nd Lt now serving at Eglin AFB FL with 46th Test Squadron Wing see(photo attached of his commissioning) Thanks again. Blessings to you your family.
Jim Vance to Steve Slaton written Dec 5: I would like to bring to everyone's attention the fact that we did not remove Steven Slaton and company by using meetings laid out in Article III. We removed him under Article IV --Officers. Under the paragraph entitled Removal of Officers, it states, "An Elected Officer of the NCRC may be removed at any time by a vote to that effect by three quarters (3/4) of the Voting Members of the NCRC... Appointed officers serve at the discretion of the County Chairman and may be removed at any time without notice. I did not include the phrase "but may not be removed at a Special Meeting unless the proposed removal is set forth in the call of the Special Meeting as one of the items of business for such meeting."I did that intentionally because we did not use a Special Meeting. Angela would not have put in the call to meeting. If you go by the Slaton version of the bylaws or the 2010 version of the bylaws it does not matter. Nearly 80% of the voting Precinct Committeemen voted to remove Slaton and company. Why would anyone in their right mind want to lead an organization with those odds against you? With Steve's definition of a quorum any two of the executive committee can have a meeting and vote on any issue they want without even being elected precinct committeemen. The rest of us can't even make a motion at a meeting. For those of you who care about the rule of law and the bylaws by which we are bound, look it up and you will see who is the legitimate leadership. Which form of leadership is a Republican form of government and which one is a Monarchy. We call upon Angela Saddler to give up the records to Katy Udall. Editor’s Note: Both Slaton and Vance claim chairmanship of the Navajo County Republican Committee). See more on the saga of the Navajo County Republican Committee 12-5-17 Briefs and 12-6-17 Briefs
Slaton replies to Vance on Dec 5. Jim, you are a person perceived to be lacking intelligence, or someone who acts in a self-defeating or significantly counterproductive way. You just don't seem to understand the bylaws. I explained this to heavenly mother Sylvia Allen. Article IV gives authority to remove officers only. Then Article III explains the process to do so. YOU AND SYLVIA MISLEAD EVERBODY WITH THIS. A call for removal is a special meeting. What don't you understand about this??? You never went through the Secretary which is called for. Then you never got signatures in 3 precincts, you only got them in 2 precincts --04 Black Buttes and 07 Pioneer! Look it up! As to Angela she's the secretary and you can't make that call. By the way, she's obligated to mail out call letters! As to the bylaws; thank you for admitting You and Sylvia do not care about the rule of law or bylaws! Jim, you’re the MINON of Sylvia Allen!!! You never showed up to venting meetings except one, and you never fulfilled any schooling assignments that you wanted to do! We have sign up sheets and none of the Mormons would get involved! As to a quorum, we changed the bylaws to what they are because you and other Mormons wouldn't take on any responsibility. If we didn't change the quorum we wouldn't of been able to have meetings due to the lack of your people showing up. The appointed PCs would show up but not the elected!!! We have the sign in sheets. As to the motion, yes, you could, but not till the end of meetings and I always asked for any other business to come before the NCRC! We have the recordings and minutes! You are reaching so far with your Monarchy B.S. it doesn't even deserve a reply! Angela Saddler does not have to give up any records till the end of her term December 2018. And, as a matter of fact, when I fired Dustin he had 10 days per the bylaws to turn over checks and records back to the executive committee and he failed to do so!! Is this a CULT Mormon thing, Jim? Every time bylaws or statues come up to Graham, Lines, Allen, you, Dustin, all you Mormons for some reason seem not wanting to follow bylaws or the RULE OF LAW! There's seems to be a pattern here wouldn't you agree!

McDaniel is running to ensure a strong focus on schools, jobs, and families. “Arizona’s economy is doing well compared to the states around us and we need to keep that going. I am running to make sure that we continue to grow, but also to ensure that our rural district is a priority when it comes to our infrastructure needs.” said McDaniel, who added “In my role with the local chamber of commerce I have had opportunities to be at the State Capitol and interact with the decision makers there. They appreciated my private sector business background, and I know that I can add real quality to the legislative process.” McDaniel’s community involvement includes serving as Chairman of the Flagstaff Airport Commission, serving as a Founding Member of the Northern Arizona Military Affairs Council (NAMAC), serving on the Regional Transportation Planning Steering Committee, the Economic Collaborative on Northern Arizona Business Attraction Committee, and the Flagstaff Charter Review Board. I'll be running to represent AZ on the same basic issues when we ran against Rep. Franks in the 2016 Primary, such as Land Restoration, Removing the Johnson Amendment from the Tax Code, Aiding President Trump in getting the WALL Financed & Built, and of course a New Merit Immigration System, which will end the chain migration with the free ride benefiting many legal & illegal immigrants along with refugees while costing us billions. Grassroots Republicans are urged to sign Archie Dicksion’s Proxy Petition To Curb Proxy Abuse Http://Bit.Ly/2rzg2w8. When signing the petition, you have two choices, total ban or limit to two per person. There has been great concern over the use of proxies the past five or years or more to control elections at both the AZGOP and Maricopa County Republican Mandatory meeting held every January. Complaints have been voiced for several years of “Bell Cows” carrying up to 40 proxies for PC who rarely, if ever attend meetings. Opponents of the excessive use of proxies say the misuse and abuse of proxies has resulted in the cleansing of conservative grassroots Republicans from leadership roles a at the district, county and state level by RINOs or McCainites.

ELECTED OFFICIAL COMMENTS
US Senator John McCain: “I have long believed that Jerusalem is the true capital of Israel. However, issues surrounding the final and permanent status of Jerusalem must ultimately be resolved by Israelis and Palestinians as part of an internationally supported peace process. That is why today's policy announcement, as well as any future relocation of the U.S. Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, should be part of a comprehensive diplomatic strategy in coordination with regional partners to achieve peace and security between Israelis and Palestinians.”
Congressman Andy Biggs: “I applaud President Trump’s action to implement the 1995 decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and to move our embassy to its rightful place in the city. Jerusalem is the historic capital of the Jewish people. I pray for a peaceful transition.”
US Representative Martha McSally: “By relocating our embassy to Jerusalem, President Trump is doing what our country should have done two decades ago: fulfill our promise to our ally and formally recognize the Jewish State of Israel’s undivided capital,” said McSally. “Jerusalem is our ally’s capital, so that’s where our embassy should be. I applaud the President’s decision, which sends a strong and clear message to the international community that we are beginning a new chapter in our alliance, one in which America keeps our promises towards Israel and doesn’t waffle about where our true allegiance lies. The era of reneged commitments is finally over.”
