LD30 PC Timothy Schwartz: NOT a coincidence! Like many of you, I attended the Trump rally here in Phoenix on Tuesday. During his message, the President made a strong point that the logjam in Washington would never get fixed until we got rid of the Senate filibuster. Early Wednesday morning I woke up remembering our last LD30 meeting with US Congressman Trent Franks as our honored guest. Trent's message covered many topics, but one of them was eliminating the Senate Filibuster...(he gave us an wonderful article he'd written on the subject.) So, yesterday I texted my friend Trent ad's asked him if there was any correlation of the topic being on his front burner and being in the President’s speech. Trent texted me back and affirmed that he indeed had spoken to the President about the matter, and that the President had made the issue part of his agenda. I thank God for Trent Franks. Former Maricopa County Republican Chairman Lyle Tuttle: - A Question for ALL AZ PC’s:

1. Is this the late 30’s in Germany? Sure looks like it to me!

2. Precinct Committeemen denied access to contact information within their own
District?

3. Big money donors dictate who they choose for Party Staff?

4. Volunteers at the West Valley Office kicked out because they support the Lines recall?

The members of our exec committee/board are apparently too scared or too timid to ask the questions that would help heal this huge rift in the AZGOP. WHY?? That is exactly what they agreed to when they put their name in the hat for election and swore an oath for the office – have they resigned or are they too timid or perhaps they ‘just don’t know what questions to ask’? IT IS THEIR RESPONSIBILITY TO DO THAT! You can’t sit in a darkened room – people know who you are and want accountability! We need to resolve this BS and get on with the business of electing REPUBLICANS. We simply can’t properly do that without the trust of the ‘rank and file’ PC’s. No more hiding; no more preventing people from asking questions – ask yourselves: “What CAN we agree on?” and resolve the issues. I’m sorry if it “ain’t” pretty, but lack of transparency has seldom brought anything except the scurrying away by those who failed to do their jobs.

The fake media was reporting “light attendance” that evening and the following morning. I noted that none had video of the hall. I was fortunate to have an elevated seat directly behind the President and could see the whole 100 yard by 100 yard hall packed with Trump supporters wall to wall. 1. I believe the President’s speech was the best he has delivered since announcing his run for the Presidency.

2. A message to ALL Republicans in Congress; The mass of supporters at the rally are not only President Trump’s base – they are also YOUR base. If you’re a “Never Trumper” or weak in supporting the President’s agenda, that base will surely let you know how they feel in November 2018!

LD23 RepJay Lawrence: While the right to anonymity is sometimes desirable in healthy political discourse (think of letters to the editor, etc), too many who wish to act violently hide behind hoods or masks in an effort to intimidate or conceal their identity from law enforcement. To help discourage these acts of violence and better protect Arizonans, I am in the process of initiating legislation that would unmask (through criminal penalty) those who, at political parades or demonstrations of any kind, wear hoods or masks in order to hide their faces, wear hoods or masks while being involved in any acts of violence, or wear hoods or masks while interfering with those at the scene trying to maintain order. I have sent this suggestion to our house attorneys and they are in the process of wring the actual legislation, I will introduce the bill that is written as my first order of business when we return to session in January. It is important to note that while Arizona has no such law now, other states have various forms of unmasking laws. I'm sure that some opponents will suggest that we'll be rounding up people on Halloween or some such nonsense, but that will not be the case. I have spoken with law enforcement and they tell me that much of the damage at these events is caused by people hiding their faces. With the facial recognition available to law enforcement today, it is much easier to identify those who are guilty of destroy property or committing violence against other people. My law will unmask them, discouraging them from such behavior, and helping to prosecute guilty parties who commit crimes. LD13 Activist Nohl Rosen: Thank you for getting the word out about my business being attacked online by the left computer repair owner because I support President Trump. While Google got the fake reviews that I was concerned with taken down, another member of the liberal left posted another fake review claiming those patronizing my business “may be subject to discrimination” and made the claim that I’m racist against many cultures. So the attacks from left continue because I support President Trump. Sadly, Facebook didn’t do anything yet about the negative fake reviews I reported to them. Even sadder is conservative business owners supporting President Trump are having their businesses attacked and the lame-stream media ignores it. Of course when a liberal claims they’re being discriminated against or when the Black Lives Matter terrorists and ANTIFA cause nothing but chaos, the lame-stream media gives them all the camera time they want.

One positive experience from all of this was that I received a call from one of your readers who expressed their sympathies and support after reading the Briefs posting about what my business is facing. That meant a lot. It shows that when push comes to shove conservatives will stick together and show support for one another. I won’t allow myself to be bullied by the left and I certainly won’t be made to feel ashamed for expressing my patriotism and support for President Trump. My business will survive this because when a customer calls needing help with they a computer problem they don’t care that I’m conservative, they just want good service. Nonetheless, I just wanted you to have an update.

Arizona Town Crier Jim Ehl– Regarding State Committeeman Bruce M Piepho's Commentary on Former MCRC Chairman Lyle Tuttle to AZGOP First VC Parralee Schneider:My response – excellent questions and conversation. Thank you Lyle Tuttle! Isn't it time to end the misdirected leadership of the Arizona Republican Party (AZGOP)? It is time to return to the rule of law. It is time to revise the By-laws to reflect what the Precinct Committeemen/women and State Committeemen/women can support as a viable honest organization to aid the election of Republican candidates reflecting the Republican Party platform and principles.’ The MCRC briefs certainly makes for interesting reading. With respect towards Piepho, who said, “It is time to revise the By-laws to reflect what the Precinct Committeemen/women and State Committeemen/women ....” Consider, when were the AZ GOP bylaws written? How many times have they been updated? How many times have they been ignored or violated? How many times, like Piepho did, someone note that the AZ GOP bylaws be revised or updated?

The AZ GOP bylaws state, “B. Method of Amending Bylaws An amendment to these bylaws may be proposed at any meeting called in accordance with these bylaws. A copy of the proposed amendment together with a statement explaining the purpose to be achieved and the reasons in support thereof shall be mailed to each member by the secretary with the notice of call for that meeting. A two-thirds vote of the members present in person or by proxy shall be necessary to pass any motion to amend.” Further on in the AZ GOP bylaws it is stated, “C. Other Committees: The state chairman may appoint such other committees as may be desirable from time to time.” As pointed out in other emails, since the AZ GOP bylaws clearly points out the method for amending the bylaws, for the chair to usurp that directive using paragraph V.C. is a clear violation of the AZ GOP bylaws!

Meanwhile. the County Chairmen, who has purview over the Precinct Committeemen, just sit their back side, and some ‘beat their chest’ like they were important! They could be! If someone had enough backbone to organize the County Chairmen into a viable group to be recognized, they could represent all the PCs and hold the state chair accountable. Out of the 15 County Chairs, does anyone with enough leadership capabilities come to mind? Maybe they could respectfully ask Jonathan Lines (who paid off the debt he didn’t know about as Treasurer), who is the party’s Finance Chair? Who are the finance committee members from each county? When was the party’s budget approved? Or do we plan to stay as a party under the dictates of one man? Maybe even ask why the secrecy!

Phoenix Becomes Illegal Alien Sanctuary After Leftist Group Orders It In Private Meeting With Police Chief Arizona’s largest city recently became a sanctuary for illegal aliens after its police chief held a private meeting with a leftist group that demanded a change in immigration enforcement policies, records obtained by Judicial Watch show. The closed-door session between Phoenix Police Chief Jeri Williams and Will Goana, policy director for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Arizona, occurred just weeks before the Phoenix Police Department quietly implemented a new policy banning officers from contacting the feds after arresting an illegal alien and forbidding them from asking about suspects’ immigration status. The new order violates key provisions of a state law upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court and leaves the city vulnerable to costly lawsuits.

Judicial Watch exposed the abrupt policy revision last month after obtaining a copy of the Phoenix Police Department’s new sanctuary Immigration Procedures and filed a public records request to uncover the steps that led to the change. Law enforcement sources told Judicial Watch in July that the revisions were crafted by a Hispanic advisory committee that promotes open borders with the backing of the influential ACLU. It appears to be part of a broader scheme to dodge federal immigration laws in Arizona’s most populous county. Earlier this year Judicial Watch reported that the newly elected sheriff in Maricopa County, which includes Phoenix, was releasing hundreds of criminal illegal immigrants—including violent offenders—from county jail facilities to protect them from deportation.

Arpaio’s life and career, which began at the age of 18 when he enlisted in the military after the outbreak of the Korean War, exemplify selfless public service. After serving in the Army, Arpaio became a police officer in Washington, D.C. and Las Vegas, NV and later served as a Special Agent for the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), formerly the Bureau of Narcotics. LD21PC Randy Miller: Judicial Watch is a great organization that needs your support! Without them we would have fallen into the abyss long ago and would not recover. Their latest work phoenix-becomes-illegal-alien-sanctuary-leftist-group-orders-private-meeting-police-chief shows just how corrupt Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton and the councilmen are. Working with the chief of police and ACLU (American Criminal Liberties Union) to silently violate federal law and provide sanctuary to illegal aliens. Arizona state law, as upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court, allows officers to ask about immigration status and use their discretion in how to proceed. Phoenix Police Department quietly implemented a new policy banning officers from contacting the Feds after arresting an illegal alien and forbidding them from asking about suspects’ immigration status. This clearly violates state law. Further, in my opinion, this is a violation of their oath to uphold the Constitution and is grounds for their removal from office based on Article 1, section 8, paragraph 4 where it specifically gives the authority to congress to “Establish an uniform rule of Naturalization”, and paragraph 19 “To make all laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into Execution the foregoing powers…” And section 9 granting regulation of “Migration and Importation” to congress after 1808. The cities don’t have authority to provide sanctuary and are in violation. Laws that have been established to determine citizenship and entry are not within the cities authority to interfere with.” It is the local authorities’ moral responsibility and duty to protect the sovereignty of our state and the safety of our citizens. They have chosen not to do so, instead, enjoy the destruction of our heritage, customs, laws, culture and safety in favor of open borders and furthering their “Globalist” agenda. The Constitution is our LAW and our protection from TYRANNY. The Sixth Amendment, paragraph three says all state senators, representatives and those executive offices (Chiefs of police and sheriffs and their deputies) shall be bound by oath. The 14^th Amendment section 3 says in summary those that take the oath and engage in insurrection or “resistance” shall not hold office! Therefore, they should and must be removed according to our law of the land! When are we going to act on this? Where are our legislators on this clear violation of law when the state is the authority on this over the cities? Let’s not stand idly by while our country is destroyed when we have the means to act for the better of our people, our children, and our future."

Brian Reilly, Former LD22PC: With the announcement of President Trump’s Pardon offer to former Sheriff Joe Arpaio, I feel compelled to make a few observations. It’s always important to release controversial news on a Friday night. Trump seeking the weekend cover offered by way of a Friday news dump is the way of a coward. Trump, if he truly believed in a pardon for Joe Arpaio, should have had the courage to have announced it during his appearance this week at the rally in Phoenix for all of Joe’s fans to savor their victory. During Trump’s presidential campaign, he told us that he would never lie to us. He told us that he believed in the rule of law and would honor our U.S. constitution. Trump then went on to court Latino voters and other people of color. Trump then offered a pardon to the man who violated the constitutional rights of Latinos and failed to follow a federal court order to stop arresting or detaining individuals without probable cause that a crime was being committed or had been committed. Did president trump speak with any of Arpaio’s victims? Did President Trump bother to review the court transcripts? Did President Trump consult with his Department Of Justice? This pardon decision by President Trump offers no consolation to the victims who have pursued justice as a result of Arpaio’s actions. The only consolation offered to Arpaio’s victims is that Arpaio’s criminal conviction, i’m told will not be erased, and that accepting the pardon is the same as admitting guilt, something that Arpaio has continuously denied. A presidential pardon only eliminates the penalty that Arpaio would have had to pay, in this case, up to 6 months confinement in a federal prison. As one who sat through the Arpaio civil contempt hearings in 2015, and the Arpaio criminal trial in 2017 and having seen the court evidence and listened to court testimony and read the transcripts, and as one who voted for Mr. Trump for president, the rule of law and the U.S. constitution took a huge blow today. The Maricopa county taxpayers who have been saddled with Arpaio’s legal expenses are the ones now being punished, not arpaio. Trump’s cowardly decision was a slap in the face to all persons of color. Maricopa county voters wisely decided Arpaio’s fate last November.

Yuma County PC Connie Uribe To Brian Reilly: For President Trump to announce a pardon at the rally in Phoenix could appear as grandstanding and it could have caused the protestors outside to become more excitable than they were already. He was correct in waiting. As far as former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio goes, let’s not forget he was denied a jury trial, one of his constitutional rights. Second, his “wisely decided” fate last November led to the release of thousands of illegal aliens on the public and destruction of one of the most effective behavior correctional facilities in our nation. The rule of law and the constitution didn’t take a “huge blow” when he was pardoned. They took a huge blow when he was charged with detaining illegal immigrants, when he was charged with doing his duty! Justice has finally been done and you can take your place in the front lines at the protest.

Richard Mack, Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Chairman: There is no question that Brian Reilly has been mercurial regarding Sheriff Joe Arpaio. One day he asks Joe to investigate Obama and then when Joe actually does it, Reilly turns on Arpaio big time. Who can figure that out? However, the real issue here is not Arpaio or Reilly. The issue here is: Does a federal judge have any authority or jurisdiction to control an elected official in our state or any other state? The answer is an unambiguous NO! In my landmark case SCOTUS said that the states are not subject to "federal direction." Thus, federal judges being federal cannot direct state officials The complaint filed against Joe had no business being in federal court.

If Joe had done this very minor offense he was accused of, it did not qualify as a federal case. The Judges did not understand who elected officials answer to and believed far too much in their own importance and power. The judges in Arpaio's case should have declined to hear it. Furthermore, his attorneys never challenged jurisdiction until it was way too late. Again, federal judges cannot tell sheriffs how to do their jobs.

Coincidentally, I have been through a federal checkpoint on I-10 outside El Paso, where all motorists are stopped, detained, and asked if they are citizens of the USA. Did Joe really do anything differently? I would submit that the border checkpoints (not at the border) are more intrusive than anything Arpaio ever dreamed of doing. Could you imagine what would have happened to him if he had set up checkpoints asking all citizens to prove their citizenship!?!?

Most importantly, federal judges across this country are committing the most egregious crimes imaginable. They sentence innocent people to prison, they deny bail to numerous arrestees and then deny speedy trials. Juries are manipulated and exculpatory evidence for defendants is thrown out. Witnesses for the defense are threatened and intimidated, and the trials are extremely one sided. In Arpaio's case, the judge denied him a jury trial.

Read the Sixth Amendment, it says in all criminal prosecutions, did you catch that word? ALL criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy a speedy and public trial with an impartial jury! So I ask; who broke the law here, Arpaio or the judges? These judges are the worst criminals; they destroy families, imprison innocents, and trample America's Foundation. They put federal bureaucracies ahead of the Constitution, the Pursuit of Happiness, and personal liberty. I blame them, not Arpaio! America is in peril and it is precisely the result of federal bureaucracies and federal judges! Perhaps we all need to focus on the real problem? Brian is a good man with good intentions, however, I believe he is letting his emotions overpower what is right in this situation. He was on the original Posse under Sheriff Joe that went after Obama birth certificate. He’s had a bone to pick with Sheriff Joe ever since - doing everything he can to disprove Sheriff Joe’s findings on the birther issue.
Sheriff Joe has done a lot for Maricopa County in protecting its citizens. Is Sheriff Joe considered a Constitutional sheriff? No, but he was a good sheriff with great intentions–people loved him. He is 84-85 yrs old. What would it prove to put this man in prison for 6 mos other than to justify some people’s egos? Did he do some things wrong? Of course he did - he admitted it. Did the Federal gov’t do things wrong in handling this case? Of course they did ie. taking all his computers and going thru his office.
Are there Illegal immigrants running around free, never put in jail or deported like they should have been for murder, rape, incest, illegal border crossing, drugs, money laundering, etc. Some hav crossed illegally into our country 2-5 or more times. They want to put Sheriff Joe away for 6 months for a Misdemeanor? This Judge wants to be judge, jury, executioner one just to make an example of Joe. I am married to an ex-cop detective. My dad was a cop, my uncle was a cop. I grew up in a law family so I know what goes on.
President Trump is doing a terrific job keeping his promises to the people. He didn’t want to make an issue Tuesday evening at the Rally. In his own way he told everyone there he would Pardon Sheriff Joe. The only people not happy are the Democrats and illegals. The President did exactly what he said he was going to do. He felt Joe was wronged, should have had a jury trial; it was a misdemeanor and deserved a pardon. If you don’t like the pardon or the way it was done. Get Over It! Marianne Ferrari, LD20 PC and State Committeeman – We Have Reason Enough To Remove:Jonathan Lines has been in continuous breach of the bylaws since before he was elected chairman, last January. These breaches are consequential and substantive. Remember: The bylaws put the bar quite low for removal: They require no cause to be proven. In effect, the chairman serves at the pleasure of the state committeemen. If trust in the chairman wears thin, that’s reason enough to remove a chairman and replace him or her with someone considered more trustworthy.

· As Treasurer, 2016: Never conducted financial audit of AZGOP books that the bylaws require before the Statutory meeting. I still don’t know if this audit was ever done.

· As Chairman, 2017: Chairman Lines said former AZGOP Chairman Robert Graham’s $250,000 debt announcement surprised him. Was that because Lines failed to honor his fiduciary responsibility to perform duties as treasurer in 2016? What unelected, unaccountable person performed the duties of treasurer, in clear breach of the bylaws?

· As Chairman in 2017: Withheld financial books from new treasurer until 5 ½ months after the election, when pressure from irate state committeemen boiled over.

· As Chairman In 2017 For 8 Months And Counting: Chairman Lines continues to withhold the permanent records from Secretary Gabby Mercer, as bylaws require. When Secretary Mercer went to AZGOP offices to demand the records, she was faced with two lawyers who had zero substantive reasons for not providing the records.

· At the Statutory Meeting Jan. 2017—Fifty-two separate breaches of the bylaws have been documented by a researcher as having taken place during the Statutory Meeting of 2017, where Chairman Lines was elected. Serious questions were raised about the accuracy and trustworthiness of the smart-phone balloting, by which Lines was elected chairman.

· At the Yuma ExComm in February 2017– In my view, as a witness at the meeting, Chairman Lines and Kim Owens abused Robert’s Rules, in order to silence conscientious conservative Timothy Schwartz, when he stood to raise a very valid objection to Lines’ request that the body approve an estimated budget, without seeing the actual figures involved. I witnessed Lines and Owens working together as a tag-team to call Schwartz’s motion “out of order”—a gambit that Robert’s Rules warns about.

Former AZGOP Administrator Phil Mason: I see that Gary Kasparov is the "headliner" for the Goldwater Annual Dinner. The topic of his speech is not specified, but we wonder if it is an outline on how to checkmate the Constitutional Conservative agenda of President Trump in America. We should recognize that the Goldwater Institute is now under new leadership - fully in the hands of the Chief of Staff to former Speaker Kirk Adams, and a top aide to Governor Ducey. ( And potential replacement for McCain.) All of them - plus Chmn. Lines - are sludge in the Arizona swamp left by Robert Graham. The continuing skewing of the Goldwater legacy by Sens Flake, McCain and the Institute should be fully exposed by true conservatives. None of these three have the "Conscience of a Conservative!". Poor Barry (Goldwater) is rolling over in his grave.

Martha never mentioned the important circumstances of our citizenship status at birth: 1) "natural born Citizen" (possessing corresponding natural born allegiance), 2) "born Citizen" (native born or foreign born into mixed circumstances, both American and Foreign, taking on American primary citizenship and allegiance), 3) "naturalized Citizen" (born a Foreign national, renouncing Foreign citizenship and allegiance, going through naturalization and becoming an American Citizen, pledging sole allegiance to America). Also, there's born in a jurisdiction and born subject to a jurisdiction. It's mistaken to say gender, race, color, or creed are essentially the same as citizenship status at birth. Citizenship status at birth is controlled ('defined') by 2 factors: 1) place of our birth (jus soli—right of soil) 2) both our parents' citizenship status at the time of our birth (jus sanguinis—right of blood). U.S. Constitution Article II, Section 1, Clause 5: 'No Person except a natural born Citizen shall be eligible to the Office of President.' It's plain to see circumstances of one's birth (in some way, to some extent) 'define' one's future. A 'natural born Citizen,' born in America to American parents ("All-American"), is the one and only class of citizen identified in the Constitution qualified to serve as POTUS/CINC. Article I Section 2 Clause 2: 'No Person shall be a Representative who shall not have been seven Years a Citizen of the U.S.' Article I, Section 3, Clause 3: 'No Person shall be a Senator who shall not have been nine Years a Citizen of the U.S.' Our Constitution, inspired by Divine Providence, is never 'blind.' He worked with Grant during the Mexican-American war and became a decorated war hero defending this country He believed slavery was a great evil and his wife broke the law by teaching slaves to read and write. After the civil war he worked with Andrew Johnson's program of reconstruction. He became very popular with the northern states and the Barracks at West Point were named in his honor in 1962. He was a great man who served this country his entire life in some form or other. His memorial is now being called a blight. No American military veteran should be treated as such. People keep yelling, "You can't change history." Sadly you can. This is no better than book burnings. ISIS tried rewriting history by destroying historical artifacts. Is that really who we want to emulate? As they tear down this "blight" keep these few historical facts in your mind. No military veteran and highly decorated war hero should ever be treated as such. This is not Iraq and that is not a statue of Sadam. IN ADDITION: Lee was also very torn about the prospect of the South leaving the Union. His wife’s grandfather George Washington was a huge influence on him. He believed that ultimately, states’ rights trumped the federal government and chose to lead the Southern army. His estate, Arlington, near Washington DC was his home and while away fighting the war, the federal government demanded that Lee himself pay his taxes in person. He sent his wife but the money was not accepted from a woman. When he could not pay the taxes, the government began burying dead Union soldiers on his land. The government is still burying people there today. It is now called Arlington National Cemetery. DO THEY WANT TO TEAR THAT UP ALSO??

Yavapai County State Committeeman/PC Laramer G. Mace: I received an rather long email from Michael Burke explaining why he is opposed to the Lines recall. He is entitled to his opinion. My question is, how did he get my email address? Since the by-laws committee cannot get email addresses of its members and I am sure if I asked AZGOP for the emails of all the state committeemen, they would be justified in declining the information. That just leaves one conclusion. AZGOP aka Lines gave the email addresses to Burke as a loyal establishment hack. If I am wrong, I apologize, but what other conclusion can I make? Brian Reilly, Former LD22PC: Thanks to Connie Uribe, Richard Mack and Francine Romesburg for their comments in 8-27-17-briefs . I’ve never met Connie, I do know Richard and I’ve enjoyed speaking with Francine and experienced the courtesy that she has shown to me at her Tea Party meetings. I’d like to comment about one of the common points that all three of their letters to Briefs mentioned. They bring up the position that former Sheriff Joe Arpaio was denied justice when he was “denied” a jury trial for the misdemeanor crime that he (allegedly) committed. Did any of you attend the Arpaio civil contempt hearings in 2015, or the Arpaio criminal trial in 2017? I attended because I wanted to see the unfiltered events as they happened. From the March 1, 2017, Court Order for a Bench Trial: “At the January 25, 2017 argument, Defendant [Arpaio] through his counsel stated ‘Judge if the question you posed to me was if it goes jury, all bets are off, if it goes Court its capped [at 6 months], I would vote court.’” Sheriff Joe Arpaio, through his attorney, CHOSE to go with a bench trial. Arpaio made the CHOICE to limit his penalty exposure. The same order states, “[T]he Court has found no precedent for granting a jury trial for a charge of criminal contempt when the possible sentence was limited to a maximum of six months in prison.” USA-v-Arpaio-Bench-TrialPresident Trump bought into the same jury trial argument. Trump’s action was to offer a pardon to a man who denies his guilt, and has shown no remorse for his actions. Trump’s pardon shows that he will protect his political friends but not the people who were victims of Arpaio’s abusive tactics. Arpaio will hold a press conference Monday to tell us how he was wronged by the court. This hardly sounds like a man who is remorseful and deserving of a pardon.

PC FrancineRomesburg Response To Bill Reilly: Quick point, unless you are calling Sheriff Richard Mack and myself (I don’t know Connie Uribe) part of Team Arpaio, I posted my points from what I know to be a right thing to do, meeting with Sheriff Joe Arpaio, knowing the justice system, how it works and how others have been pardoned for more than misdemeanors over a number of years. Sheriff Joe deserves the same courtesy. I sent my post to a few people asking for their input including Sheriff Mack whom Dave& I know very well. Mack’s post on Frosty’s Briefs was purely straight from Mack’s heart and knowledge of the law. Mack is a Constitutional Sheriff. Mack’s comments, as others I’ve seen are straight from the heart. Since Mack has dealt with the Federal Gov’t (‘Prince vs Mack’) he knows the ins and outs of things. No one tells Mack what to think or do. Since you know Mack, you know he doesn’t mince any words, he tells it like it is and tells the truth. So other than Connie whom I do not know, there are 2 of us who made comments that are strictly from our hearts, the truth of the situation, and the law and what is the right thing to do especially in regards to a ‘misdeamor’. This should have gone to a jury trial according to the US Constitution. Period end of statement. No ifs, no buts, no nothing. Everyone deserves a jury trial of their peers according to the US Constitution. The Fed Gov’t didn’t want that. Pure and simple. They wanted to make an example of Arpaio. The man is 85 yrs old. Mack says it very well in his statement.

Michael Burke, Pinal County Republican Chairman to State Committeeman: Why I Can No Longer Remain Silent On The Recall Efforts Of The AZGOP Officers – I recently passed on to you information concerning efforts to recall AZGOP Chairman Jonathan Lines. In my communications to you, I have emphasized that if you are a State Committeeman, the decision to sign the petition for recall, along with the decision on how to vote if a recall election happens is entirely up to you based on your interpretation of the facts.

This is an internal party matter and it would be inappropriate for the Pinal County Republican Committee (PCRC), as an organization, to take a position one way or another. Individual members of the State Committee, however, along with all PC’s must be free to debate the issues and express their opinions while respecting other points of view. As a member of the State Committee I include myself in this assessment. I am honored to be the PCRC Chairman and will work to keep the organization neutral, but I believe that it would be a failure of leadership for me to be silent on this issue.

I am not what anyone would call an “insider”. I have seen Robert Graham at meetings and met him only once. I met Jonathan Lines for the first time last January when he came to speak to the PCRC a week before the state elections. Since that time, I have spoken to him briefly on a couple of occasions.

After giving this matter much thought, I believe that the facts do not rise to the level of recall. My reasons are as follows:

- The $250,000 debt incurred by the AZGOP for legal fees in the fight against ballot harvesting was the result of a decision made by Robert Graham. At the time it was made, it would have been a contingent liability, which would not be on the books until services were rendered and an invoice was presented. By all accounts this did not happen until after the January election. Robert Graham owns that decision, not Jonathan Lines.

- I have read the public comments from the new AZGOP Treasurer Robert Lettieri, who has stated that he has examined the financial records and found no improprieties. I find this to be significant because Lettieri was on the opposite slate of candidates from Lines in the January GOP elections.

- The State Party has commissioned an audit of the AZGOP financials and they are almost complete. My view is that anyone considering recall should, at least, wait until the audit is completed and the findings are made public before making a final decision. LD29 PC Michael Meacham: I am afraid that Constantine Querard's support for the National Voter Compact has made his endorsement of anyone into a negative. In the absence of other info, I would have to conclude that anyone he supports is also an NVC supporter.

LD18 PC Peggy McClain: Most of us who believe in the Constitution don't use or see the need for identity politics. So our new LD18 House candidate, Farhana Shifa, introduces herself through Briefs using identity politics.

Steven Slaton, Navajo County Republican Committee Chairman Rebuttal to Michael Burke, Pinal County Chairman’s e-mails that he sent out on Aug 28 entitled: “Why I Can No Longer Remain Silent On The Recall Efforts Of The AZGOP Officers” -- First of all, yes this is an internal party matter where all state committeemen have the responsibility to see to it that the elected leaders follow state statues and AZGOP bylaws. The failures of Chairman Jonathan Lines have been documented completely. If you wish to ignore them... shame on you. The recall has nothing to do with Former Chairman Robert Graham’s, incurred debt of $250,000. However, former treasurer Lines should have been aware of it and brought this to the attention of the Executive Committee.

As to AZGOP Treasurer Robert Lettieri, he does not have records prior to Feb 28 2017. I know this from my conversations with Bob in reviewing the AZGOP Campaign Finance Reports. A forensic audit is the only way to get to the bottom of what’s been going on with the AZGOP!! You, sir, will be surprised how they transfer funds from one account to another!

For your information, to this date, Chairman Lines still has not released records to Secretary Gabby Mercer. This is required in the AZGOP bylaws, and governed through state statues. Furthermore it appears Chairman Lines gave you the state committeemen e-mails, along with Sylvia Allen and Bruce Ash. Question sir; why not give them to Secretary Mercer?

As to the Bylaw Committee, you pretty much answered your own concern. They still haven’t sent me copies of the meetings “minutes” or what amendments they’re looking at changing. I believe you should re-look at the case to remove Chairman Lines. You cannot make up or change the facts as to what you want or Chairman Line’s wants!

LD16 Chairman Jerry Clingman to Pinal County Chairman Michael Burke: I appreciate your honesty, not knowing the people involved or what has gone on. Bylaws were broke and laws were violated. The reasons for the REMOVAL were posted on the Briefs many times. They are long. There is plenty of blame to go around including County Chairs, 1 and 2 VCs, and the former Executive Committee. They all failed to demand meetings and oversite. Let’s not forget that Lines was the former Treasurer and by law, the custodian of the treasure's records or maybe he was Treasurer in name only. As to the audits they are working on 2012-2014. 2014-2016 is still pending, this work should have been done long ago by the Treasurer. As to PCRC not getting involved, it is your job to get involved, stop the corruption now and work to ensure that the Party is run honestly and run by the members, for the members and to insure that it is not run by corrupt politicians.

Dale Gohr of Clarkdale: I detest racists, segregationists, Ku Klux Klan, Nazi’s, Neo-Nazi’s, White-supremacists or any other supremacists, be it racial, financial, religious or social. In Charlottesville, VA a major segment of liberal, democrat disinformation and outright lies came to a head in ways I would never have suspected; as in having the state police essentially calling their state governor “a liar” and him sticking to the lies. Gov Terry McAuliffe (D-VA) claimed the so-called Alt-Right had obtained a permit to protest in Constitution Park. The Counter-Protesters did not have a permit for Constitution Park, but some did in other parks. According to the police the so called “Alt-Right” protesters were NOT ARMED, however, the Governor claimed otherwise. Who started the violence? Will someone identify any (just one) prominent Conservative who advocated for racial inequality. On the other hand; here are a few leaders that were “Bold and Blatant Racists”

1) President Woodrow Wilson—Was a fierce segregationist.

2) Margaret Sanger—hated blacks. Founded planned parenthood - established to euthanize non-white children.

3) Sen Robert Byrd (D WV) 11/20/1917 – 6/28/2010— was a nine (9) term Senator from West Virginia. An activist, prominent leader and Grand Dragon in the Ku Klux Klan (KKK), founded in 1866 and extended into almost every southern state and became a vehicle for white southern resistance to the Republican party’s reconstruction-era policies, which were aimed at establishing political and economic equality for Blacks. These three people along with Saul Alinsky are the primary political and policy idols of Hillary Clinton and a litany of others who claim moral superiority.

President Donald J. Trump clearly denounced all violence from any source. For the “Wishy Washy Weasels” Republican Establishment to the “Lock-Step Liars” Democrats and the “Clueless; Catch-Phrase Parrots” in the media --You are a pathetic cadre of copycats, who have neither the intestinal fortitude, nor ambition to utilize that unused space between your ears. Deception was used against SB-1070 Author Russell Pearce, Gov Jan Brewer, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and President Trump for his “Pardon of Sheriff Joe. Within the last week alone, I helped a breast cancer survivor who was charged a $300 facility fee for a routine 15 minute doctor visit; contacted the prison system for a father of a suicidal son to make sure he was receiving appropriate treatment; contacted the Dysart School Superintendent on behalf of a father who told me his son’s teacher was assigning politically one-sided assignments in economics class; and investigated the oversight of home repair warranties thanks to a Peoria air conditioner contractor alerting me to problems. Sen Sylvia Tenney Allen: History must be preserved and protected. It must not be distorted and altered to fit the whim of the current political movement. We learn from our past. Our American founders expressed over and over how important it was for our founding principles to be taught to future generations. Thomas Jefferson said that we cannot be ignorant and free. Over the last 50 years, we have distorted the past for political gain. We have destroyed the loyalty and love for our country in the hearts of many of our youth. We have held up other governing philosophy as superior to ours, leaving out the truth of brutal consequences. If someone is protesting peacefully and legally, we will respect that, even if we don't agree with them. If we take away their rights, we have also taken away our own rights. We need to understand the principles of fascism, totalitarianism and Marxism. All the “ism's” have one thing in common; they control people’s thinking, their property and every aspect of their life. The fascism and totalitarianism ideals are so far Right that they meet Marxism and communism on the other side. Russia, China and Germany murdered millions to control how people think or behave, often sending those who spoke out to concentration camp. In Munich, Germany 1938, “Kristallnacht”, or The Night of Broken Glass, resulted in thousands of Jewish men, women and children being beaten and killed along with the destruction of their shops and homes. From there it led to the gas chambers. There are parallels in history with what is happening not only in Charlottesville but for the last few years of rioting in our country. Where will it lead us? Now we hear that the Washington and Jefferson monuments should be torn down because both presidents were slave owners. Again, what was the world like over 200 years ago? The entire world's economy was slave-driven due to the lack of machinery and the fact that all things had to be produced by human energy. Even certain African nations sold their fellow countrymen into slavery. Indentured servants, for all intent and purposes, were slaves until their servitude time was served. You and I have a responsibility to stand as citizens to defend our Constitution and founding principles that have given us prosperity and individual freedom. We must defend the rights of individuals to have freedom of expression and to believe in the dictates of their own conscience without reprisal. Although that headline may reflect the language in the AZGOP Bylaws—both proponents and opponents mostly referring to it by this name—there's more to it than meets the eye. We've seen all kinds of buzz and political posturing going around on both 'sides,' those for and against 'removal.' How about we all keep everything in perspective and see it for what it is: a 'Vote of Confidence,' up or down. Be it one time or the other, one matter or the other, we've seen AZGOP Statutory Elected Officers (Secretary and Treasurer), County Chairmen, State Committeemen, and PCs alike—imagine this, if you will—being so bold as to go in good faith and take it for granted the AZGOP will rightly understand, observe, and go by its own Bylaws. Let's all remember how hard we worked at winning the 2016 United States Presidential Election to 'Make America Great Again.' After all that, we're now faced with trying to get the AZGOP 'Make Shall Mean Shall Again' in its own Bylaws? Guess how many times the word 'shall' is mentioned in the AZGOP Bylaws. Just counted. 117. Guess how many times the word 'may' is mentioned. Just counted. 32. As per these same Bylaws, the body of State Committeemen reserves the 'right' or 'privilege' to call an official meeting and vote to see if this Chairman (or any Chairman for that matter) stays or goes. Before anyone goes too far in targeting others before and after, let's all keep in mind how we're all PCs, we all make up the AZGOP, and we're all responsible to the AZGOP Bylaws. If you'd like to promote your particular vision for the AZGOP and recruit like-minded people, then so be it. However that plays out in LD, County, and AZGOP elections, it must be a given that—whoever gets elected, takes an oath, and is therefore charged to run the AZGOP—he or she will (and, where the Bylaws say 'shall,' must) run the AZGOP as per the Bylaws, for the good of empowering its membership to the greatest extent possible." A Different Conservative Activist, Rob Haney, retired chairman of the Phoenix-based Maricopa County Republican Proycearty, told The Wanderer it was too soon to know whether the mid-August departure of Trump’s chief strategist, conservative Steve Bannon, would see liberals gaining more control within the White House. “But whatever the Trump White House may do to mollify the RINOs in Congress, I do not believe it will result with the passage of any major Trump legislative items,” Haney said. “There are just too many hard-core ‘Never Trump’ RINOs who will take turns aligning with Democrats to defeat the legislation. Phoenix City Councilman Sal DiCiccio successfully fought off an attempt today by radical anti-police protestors to engage in a witch hunt against the brave men and women of the Phoenix Police Department. “Our officers performed brilliantly that day, under incredibly difficult circumstances,” said DiCiccio. “The way our police department handled those protests should be a model for every city in the country. Unfortunately, after the event, a handful of radical anti-police protestors and ultra-liberal organizations – the same people bent on creating chaos from coast to coast – have been trying to impugn our officers and second guess their decision making. These people demanding an outside review, they don’t want police departments across the country to follow the lead of the Phoenix Police Department and control these events,” DiCiccio. “As they have made clear time and again, they want to engage in violence, rioting and destruction. Former AZGOP Administrator Phil Mason: Legislative Champion Awards from the Arizona League of Cities and Towns reinforces and confirms the RINO, liberal, big-government, big spending record of Rep. Shope and Sen. Pratt. (It is also important to note that Shope was appointed Pro-Tem by Speaker Mesnard, which demonstrates where Mesnard's true beliefs are). Look at the makeup of voter registration of League Board Members to see how far left this organization. It is hard to believe, but it is even farther left than the Arizona Chamber which should be ham(m)ered by all Republicans. The League is dominated by liberal Democrat municipal elected and appointed leaders. In the last 40 years, I cannot remember one Constitutional Conservative legislator who was indoctrinated as a Mayor or City Manager prior to election to the Senate or House. The conservatives in the Shope and Pratt districts should use this as prima facie evidence and start NOW recruiting candidates to throw these bums out. {Remember that Pratt was the deciding vote to give us Obama Medicaid expansion.

Russell Sias, La Paz County Chairman: I find it interesting that (LD22 Chairman) Rae Chornenkey would refer us to the form that has been set up to submit our suggestions for bylaw revisions. I say “revisions” for the form disallows new thoughts and ideas. Our suggestions have to fit into the mold of the existing bylaws. What if someone suggests a new bylaw altogether? What if their reasoning is not applicable to entering in a paragraph or two? Heaven’s sake, let’s not allow them to discuss their suggestions with a real live person (other than Kathie Petsas or Coleman of course) on the bylaws committee! I mean, after all, that would just be way to confusing for their closed-door meetings. I jest of course. Since the beginning of this likely unauthorized by bylaw committee (for we already have a spelled out procedure for amending our bylaws) I have pondered why this closed and apparently secret committee meeting procedure. One thought comes to mind: What if? Remember a couple of years ago, when the resolution committee presented at the state meeting the following: ...we have reviewed the submitted resolutions and rejected them all…. With zero discussion. Remember? Maybe you don’t, BECAUSE the state body was given NO opportunity to discuss or debate them. They were rejected outright simply because the committee said so. So, what if this new bylaws committee comes to the next meeting of the body and says ...we have decided and approved a new set bylaws and/or changes to them? Don’t say it cannot happen, for those of who remember the fuss about being told what the resolution committee “decided” (for us) was the way it was going to be – and to heck with the body having a voice. Former Senator Russell Pearce: Where is Attorney General Mark Brnovich? DACA is breaking the law and costing Arizona taxpayers millions of dollars. DACA is in violation of the law, the Constitution, plus Arizona law. Ten states have given the feds a deadline to the Executive to overturn the illegal Amnesty ordered by the corrupt Obama administration or be sued. Arizona said NO to DACA overwhelmingly. In 2006 Arizona’s Prop. 300 passed by 73% of voters a majority of every single demographic, including Hispanics. Yet our Arizona Attorney General Brnovich did not join the law suit to over-turn the illegal executive order by the corrupt Obama administration on giving Amnesty to DACA individuals many of whom came to the US on their own and many of them violent gang members and allowing them to get benefits, including in-state tuition not even offered to U.S. students. I believe the law is clear. According to Kris Kobach, as a legal question, it’s not even close. DACA is not illegal for just one reason. It’s illegal for at least five reasons – three violations of federal law and two violations of the United States Constitution and plus Arizona voters overwhelmingly said no by 73%.

Federal law violations:

1. 8 USC 1225(b)(2). This statute requires that any alien an ICE officer determines to be inadmissible “shall” be placed in removal proceedings. Congress passed this law in 1996 to stop the “catch and release” policies of the Clinton Administration. Incredibly, DACA orders ICE agents to break this law. In 2012, in the case of Crane v. Napolitano, I represented 10 ICE agents who sued the Obama Administration to stop DACA. 2. The Administrative Procedure Act (APA). Even if there weren’t a statutory barrier to a president issuing the DACA directive, the Department of Homeland Security would still have to promulgate a formal regulation (or “rule”), with notice and public comment, under the requirements of the APA. The Obama Administration violated this federal law as well when it created DACA. The Fifth Circuit already came to this conclusion in Texas v. United States, a case which resulted in an injunction halting the second Obama executive amnesty (which was based on the same theory as DACA). There Is Lots Of Speculation regarding the report that Trump Team’s Senior Advisor/State Treasurer Jeff DeWit, and former AZGOP Chairman Robert Graham, will meet next week to decide who will run against incumbent Sen Jeff Flake and candidate Kelli Ward… or is it hot air and wishful thinking like the stories that Graham would become the Republican National Committee (RNC) chairman? Lots of voters are urging DeWit to take on Flake, saying he’s the only one who can beat the incumbent. Ward has been running her buns off campaigning and gathering quite a support group since the last election. Graham would probably get the RINO/McCain Establish vote. It is even rumored that former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio is considering getting into the senate race. If you notice, DeWit hasn’t said a word. Those close to DeWit said he was taken by surprise by reports of an alleged meeting scheduled between him and Graham. It will be interesting to see how this plays out as we all know that if the GOP fields more than one candidate against Flake, the vote will be split – which could give Flake another win in the primary. The Dems are hungry for that senate seat and with Flake’s unpopularity in polls Arizona could lose that senate seat to a Dem in the general. Think about it folks.
